Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi formally dissolved the House of Representatives on Friday, triggering a snap general election scheduled for Feb. 8 in a move aimed at securing a public mandate for her administration’s policy agenda just months after she took office.
The dissolution of the lower house came at the opening of the regular Diet session, a step not seen at the start of a session in roughly 60 years, according to news agency Kyodo.
In an official statement released by the Cabinet Secretariat, Takaichi argued that major policy shifts — including her administration’s economic measures to counter persistent inflation, structural fiscal reforms and national security initiatives — require direct public endorsement.
“Now that we have implemented immediate measures, we need to step up our efforts to realize a major policy shift,” Takaichi said in the statement. “If we do not begin implementing bold policies and reforms now, it will be too late.”

Bangor Publishing Company — the company that owns both the Bangor Daily News (BDN) and a lesser-known marketing agency — has received more than $2.4 million from state agencies since Gov. Janet Mills (D) took office in 2019, according to a review of contracts filed with Maine’s procurement office.
The payments to Bangor Publishing Company are not regularly disclosed by the company’s newspaper arm but are available publicly via the state’s vendor payment disclosures and its procurement record websites.
State financial records show that payments made to either Bangor Publishing Company, Pulse Marketing Agency, or Pulse Marketing LLC began almost immediately after Gov. Mills entered office and totaled more than $2.4 million as of fiscal year 2024.

Not much is known about the weapon, but those reports followed on-the-ground accounts from Venezuela describing how Maduro’s gunmen were brought to their knees, “bleeding through the nose” and vomiting blood.
One member of the deposed strongman’s team of guards recounted afterward that “suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation.”

Schmidt’s Josephus on Jesus: New Evidence for the One Called Christ (2025) is a new study of a famous passage concerning Jesus in Josephus’s Antiquities (18.63–64): the testimonium flavianum (TF). It finds that the elaborate case for the TF’s oft-doubted authenticity (in Part 1) must be taken seriously, whereas the more sensational claims (in Part 2) do not well explain the evidence.

Even in Houston there are at least TEN Chinese birth centers (月子中心), and they are all in operation. How many are in NYC, LA and SF? In America there are hundreds! I have been involved in some WeChat discussions about this topic, some members in CA provided their firsthand experiences. It’s shocking!
The CCP backed Chinese childbirth tourism started in 1990s . Each birth center serves anywhere between 20-300 pregnant Chinese women annually, and takes full responsibility for new borns, including birth certificates, Chinese entry paperwork, etc. Depending upon where the pregnant Chinese women came to the U.S., they may or may not even need visas (such as Guam).
When those babies grow up and reach 18, they come back to America not only enjoy social benefits, like Peter said, they will vote! It is not exaggerated that by 2030 there will be ONE MILLION American-born and China-educated voters who will vote on behalf of CCP!
