Well, duh, guys. You just figured out what ‘politics is the art of the possible‘ means. Also, Trump is a wonderful human being who lost money being president. You guys are very good at what you do (donations welcome) but clearly do not grasp how and why Trump speaks as he does. He is a master of American English who speaks bluntly and as truthfully as he is able. If you attack him, he will attack you. If you don’t attack him, he will not attack you. Everyone knows this. It’s a human thing and also a major American thing. Follow the law and no one will bother you (ideally). Follow the rules of American manners, and no one will attack you (ideally). Trump is a quintessential American politician who both reflects and embodies some of the deepest American values. That is why his supporters not only like his policies. We also like him. Scientists are calling for stage 3 clinical trials of an Alzheimer’s drug to be scrapped after a report highlighted serious doubts about the legitimacy of research that helped the medicine reach that stage.
A long-awaited report by the City University of New York (CUNY) accused one of its faculty members, neuroscientist Hoau-Yan Wang, of egregious misconduct concerning 20 research papers — defined as workplace behavior so outrageous, dangerous, or illegal that an employer cannot reasonably expect to correct it through progressive discipline.
Wang is being rightly excoriated while others have wrongly received awards for ‘courage’ for their covid anti-science. ABN
Gaza
The people of Gaza are arguably the most abused, debased and persecuted people in the world, in the history of the world. The only ‘moral’ argument against them is they should have left by now. One reason they haven’t left by now is no one wants them because their culture is completely broken.
It is obvious top people in Israel allowed the breaches of the wall and the massacres to happen. Since they had to have known, it is correct to say they Made It Happen On Purpose (MIHOP). MIHOP is a common ruse that can be found at the beginnings of almost all wars. Tonkin, WMD, Pearl Harbor, so on. It is the the rule, not the exception. Absent evidence of no MIHOP, it has to be assumed. When there is proof of MIHOP—absurd coincidences, unexplainable impossibilities—it is proved. It’s obvious. Only in the human realm would anyone dare twist around pretending otherwise or be capable of doing so or want to.
In Buddhism the Human Realm is characterized by suffering. Humans can become enlightened in this realm, but temptations are many and few do. Most humans succumb to greed, anger, ignorance, pride, violence, tribalism. And thus most humans are not reborn in the Human Realm. They go down not up.
The moral conundrum in Gaza today is agonizing. There is no simple or complex answer. It will not end well. It looks like yet another horrible step toward WW3 and global domination by whomever wins.
After that, almost all of us will be as Gazans today.

The delay of ground operation can have different explanation than weather. I guess US observing rapid growth of consolidation of Muslim world on the anti-American basis are hesitating whether let Israel to do that or not. Calculation of direct consequences show total collapse of American policy toward Islamic world. No Muslim at all would agree with ethnical cleansing of Gaza – Nakba 2.0. Many countries , movements and persons would react. Some of them violently. The West in general is facing direct confrontation with global Islam. No one can stay neutral. Ground operation = crossing last line that still separates humanity from irreversible split, war of civilizations and total destruction.
Many ways to think about this situation. I am sure a just and complex ethics will not win. Instead, power-formulas aimed at planetary control will dictate who lives and who dies. The Israeli MIHOP raid was designed to provoke, but this provocation can go more ways than one. It may backfire on Israel and the West, causing years of chaos and war. And it may backfire on the Muslim and anti-West, also causing years of chaos and war. The winner will be the most powerful who uses the best strategy. The immediate provocation was the MIHOP raid in Israel, but there are decades behind that and already there are many avenues of violence and further provocation after that. This is open KOBK war unlikely to be quelled by anything but more violence. ABN
