Get the ball rolling and be proud for 1,000 years. If the Irish pull this off, I’m gonna love it. This is a moral battle and it requires men who feel it as well as think it. ABN
The US system is based on ‘enlightened self-interest’, not bald ‘self-interest’. A system like ours demands a fundamentally moral population that largely agrees with basic Rawlsian morality — don’t do to others what you don’t want them to do to you. Our system works best within that framework, as that is what allows individual freedom and creativity to flourish. Almost all of that has been lost, inundated with too many migrants who have have no idea and corroded by too many groups who are entirely selfish. ABN
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky has confirmed that his country has transferred MIM-104 Patriot air defence systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “The Patriot systems that we once received from the U.S. are now in Ukraine. These are Israeli systems that were in service in the early 1990s. We agreed to transfer them to Ukraine,” the ambassador informed the Ukrainian media outlet Insider.
Speaking on June 8, he notably refrained from specifying the timing of the transfer, and thus did not provide confirmation as to whether reports by Western sources in January 2025 of such transfers were accurate, or whether the systems were delivered more recently. Brodsky further refrained from elaborating on the number of systems which have been delivered, meaning it will likely remain uncertain whether Israel agreed to supply its entire arsenal, or has maintained some units in storage. It has been reported that radars and other parts of the Israeli systems will first be refurbished in the United States before delivery to Ukraine.
Russia fears China could annex part of its Far East region, including the port city of Vladivostok, and beyond, according to a leaked document from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
The eight-page internal FSB document, obtained by The New York Times, reveals that despite Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s outward projection of warm ties with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, he fears Beijing is “trying to encroach” on Russian territory.
Vladivostok was ceded to Tsarist Russia in 1860 under the Treaty of Peking, which established the border between China and Russia along the Amur and Ussuri Rivers, as indicated on Newsweek‘s maps in this article. This agreement granted Russia control of Vladivostok, a key port city in the Russian Far East.
Per the FSB, China has sought to bolster its historical claims in the Russian Far East by researching traces of “ancient Chinese peoples” in the region. In 2023, China’s Ministry of Natural Resources mandated that new maps use the Chinese names for Vladivostok and seven other cities in the region. The document suggests that China may be trying to influence local opinion to support its narrative.
The FSB memo also alleges that Chinese intelligence agents are interested in the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route, which is located by the northern coast of Russia. The route, which significantly reduces shipping time between Asia and Europe, would allow China to export its goods more efficiently.
SCOTUS has become a communist sociology department. This is a usurpation of powers they do not have. It’s easy to see their bias by comparing their lack of concern for due process in the J6 cases. We can see this logically as well because it is obviously impossible to right mass illegal migration under Biden-Harris-Mayorkas by awarding individual due-process rights to every illegal they ushered in. The punishment must fit the crime and the law must fit the situation and both must align with the Constitution. This is so easy to see, it’s fair to accuse several members of the bench of blatant legal and moral malfeasance. ABN
Until then, Musk’s criticisms of the president had been confined to relatively measured arguments against the deficit.
…Trump was handed the dossier on Isaacman just moments before a televised send-off for Musk in the Oval Office.
The president tempered his rage through the farewell but when the press were gone, he confronted the SpaceX boss.
He began reading some of the donations aloud, shaking his head.
‘This is not good,’ Trump told him.
The world’s richest man begged the world’s most powerful to reconsider.
But the president, by now growing suspicious of the deficit hawk DOGE chief, wouldn’t hear it.
‘I don’t care, this guy is gone,’ Trump said.
…Trump pointedly addressed the decision during an Oval Office meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz last Thursday as Musk’s attacks on X spiraled out of control.
‘I didn’t think it was appropriate,’ Trump told reporters. ‘He happened to be a Democrat, like, totally Democrat. And I say, you know, look, we won. We get certain privileges. And one of the privileges is we don’t have to appoint a Democrat. NASA is very important.’
Another Chinese scientist has been charged with smuggling biological materials into the United States after a University of Michigan student and her boyfriend were caught last week.
Chengxuan Han was arrested on Sunday at Detroit Metropolitan airport and charged with smuggling goods into the US.
Police allege Han sent four packages which ‘contained biological material related to round worms’ from China to the US.
The packages were sent between September 2024 and March 2025 and addressed to people linked to the laboratory at the University of Michigan.
Han initially denied sending the packages at all, according to court documents. She later insisted they contained plastic cups, rather than petri dishes.
According to the documents, she ultimately admitted sending the samples, which she had collected during her research as a Ph.D. student in Wuhan, China.
The charges come less than a week after University of Michigan postdoctoral fellow Yunqing Jian, 33, was charged alongside Zunyong Liu, 34, for attempting to smuggle a weapon of ‘agroterrorism’ into the United States in a sinister plot allegedly tied to the Chinese Communist Party.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday said he is “retiring” all 17 members of a crucial government panel of vaccine advisors.
“A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science,” Kennedy said in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on Monday.
Kennedy is removing all members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The group reviews vaccine data and makes recommendations that determine who is eligible for shots and whether insurers should cover them, among other efforts.
