Can Patients With Narcissistic Personality Disorder Change? A Case Series
Abstract
The study was set out to establish the potential for psychotherapy to effect improvements in patients with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Eight patients with NPD who improved in treatment were identified. Consensus clinician/investigator diagnostic scores from before and after the psychotherapies were retroactively established on the Diagnostic Interview for Narcissism (DIN) and the Diagnostic Statistic Manual for Psychiatric Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5) Personality Disorder Section II criteria. Psychosocial functioning (work or school, romantic relationships) before and after the psychotherapies was retroactively evaluated as well. At the completion of the therapies after 2.5 to 5 years, all patients had improved, no longer met DIN or DSM-5 criteria for NPD, and showed better psychosocial functioning. Symptomatic improvements were associated with large effect sizes. In conclusion, changes in NPD can occur in treatment after 2.5 to 5 years. Future research should identify patient characteristics, interventions, and common processes in such improved cases that could help with development of treatments.
Trump answers questions
Russia warns Trump against bombing Iran and Ayatollah vows to ‘never surrender’ after White House gave them 48 hours to avoid US onslaught
Russia warned the United States against even thinking about supporting Israel‘s attacks on Iran as the burgeoning conflict entered its sixth day.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday that direct U.S. military assistance to Israel could radically destabilise the situation in the Middle East.
Ryabkov said Russia cautions the U.S. against supplying such assistance to Israel – as the ministry warned Israeli strikes on nuclear facilities had pushed the region ‘millimetres away from catastrophe’.
The remarks came as the Ayatollah Khamenei issued a chilling threat to the U.S., warning that ‘any US military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage’.
‘This nation will not surrender to anyone in the face of imposition,’ he said in his first televised comments since Israel launched its surprise attack on Friday.
The stark warning came as U.S. officials indicated that Iran has 24 to 48 hours to surrender and save itself from American invention as President Trump considers joining Israel’s war.
White House officials said the next two days will be critical in determining whether Washington and Tehran can find a diplomatic solution to the burgeoning crisis in the Middle East.
Trump posted on Truth Social yesterday that he knew where Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei is hiding but would not launch a strike ‘yet’. He then added ‘UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER’!.

Trump signals no enthusiasm for war with Iran or wider war in ME
In this, Trump shows he is either not Israel’s lapdog or he is pretending he is not Israel’s lapdog. Normal analysis of his demeanor and words is he has sidelined Netanyahu and Jewish Supremist in both Israel and USA. This is a sign that USA controls Israel, not the other way around. And also, it could be theater. But I think Trump wants lasting peace in the Middle East and has a good chance of seeing it happen through a coalition of regional powers controlling the region, with USA looking on. ABN
Good Grief – Zelenskyy (Ukraine) and Sheinbaum (Mexico) Travel to G7 Canada to Influence and Intercept
I’ll break out a different analytical discussion on other foreign interest matters in a separate post; however, as the G7 kicks off it is very interesting to notice who shows up on President Trump’s G7 schedule in Canada – that has absolutely no bearing on the G7 meeting in Canada.
According to the schedule, President Trump has meetings with both Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Neither Mexico or Ukraine are in the G7 (Italy, Germany, France, USA, Canada, Japan, U.K).
Obviously Zelenskyy is traveling to Canada at the behest of the global intelligence network because they are afraid President Trump may no longer keep Zelenskyy at the center of the foreign policy universe. The distraction of Iran/Israel might take away the focus of President Trump – Zelenskyy cannot bear the thought of that.
For President Sheinbaum, the first Jewish leader in Mexican history, the issues are even more dramatic, consequential and serious. President Trump’s rapid deportation program is making it very difficult for Mexicans in the USA to send money back to Mexico. This is quickly becoming an urgent matter for Mexican officials who will be forced to intervene in support of the local Mexican economy if President Trump keeps impeding the accumulation of illegal wages in the USA.
Trump’s new sweeping directive to ICE sends liberal cities quaking
President Donald Trump ordered a new blitz on Democrat cities which which will see huge numbers of illegal immigrants rounded up for the ‘largest mass deportation in history.’
In the president’s new surge even more ICE agents will flood some of America’s biggest population centers, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.
It represents a massive escalation and comes after days of violent anti-ICE protests nationwide against Trump’s tough immigration policies.
‘Our Nation’s ICE officers have shown incredible strength, determination, and courage as they facilitate a very important mission, the largest mass deportation operation of illegal aliens in history,’ Trump wrote on social media.
‘These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens,’ Trump said.
Trump withholds full support for Israel vs Iran; will retaliate only if ‘we are attacked’
US aircraft carrier USS Nimitz is heading towards the Middle East as the conflict between Israel and Iran spirals into all-out war.
Donald Trump earlier warned that Iran will experience ‘the full strength’ of the American military if it attacks the US amid the conflict with Israel, despite reports he had vetoed Israel’s plans to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The US President warned Tehran that if ‘we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before’.
This all comes down to what ‘we’ means. So far, and as long as Trump continues to keep out of the conflict, ‘we’ means we are going to keep out of the conflict. This is good. It means radical Israeli Supremists are not getting any help from USA in establishing their Greater Israel fantasy; thus keeping them from becoming sole hegemon of the Middle East. This is KOBK game theory playing out before our eyes. ABN
Two Israeli F-35 Stealth Fighters Shot Down Over Iran, Female Pilot Captured: How Credible Are the Reports?
Aspokesman of the Iranian Armed Forces has confirmed the shooting down of two Israeli F-35 fifth generation fighter aircraft during clashes on June 13, with state media subsequently reporting the capture of one female pilot who landed on Iranian soil after ejecting.
Although the veracity of these claims remains in question, an assessment of the circumstances of the F-35’s operations, and the capabilities of Iranian air defences, provides context which is invaluable to evaluating the likelihood that such shootdowns were achieved.
The F-35 is the only modern fighter currently in the Israeli Air Force’s fleet, with none of the service’s F-15s or F-16s having been produced at or modernised to a ‘4+ generation’ standard, while all continue to rely on mechanically scanned array radars considered effectively obsolete for high intensity engagements.
Confirmation that Israeli attacks on Iranian targets used not only air-launched missiles, which can be fired from F-15s and F-16s far beyond Iranian airspace with little risk to the aircraft, but also gravity bombs which these older fighters would struggle to brave Iranian airspace to drop, makes it highly likely that Israeli F-35s flew deep into Iranian airspace to attack their targets. Such operations are unprecedented, with prior Israeli attacks on Iran having consistently been launched from far outside the country’s airspace.
Although the F-35 retains advanced stealth capabilities, and Iranian air defences have shown signs of considerable limitations in the past, the sheer scale of Iran’s arsenal of air defence assets, the sophisticated capabilities of many of its systems, and the size of its fighter fleet, make it highly possible that F-35s were shot down.
US admits to 500 troops in Taiwan testing Beijing’s red lines
The US has admitted that it has approximately 500 military personnel stationed in Taiwan breaking previous pledges to not post soldiers on the contested island.
Retired US Navy Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery made the admission of a US military presence on Taiwan during testimony before lawmakers on May 15 – the first official confirmation of long-time suspicions that the US has a military footprint in Taiwan.
