With all votes counted, right-wing historian Karol Nawrocki has been elected Poland’s new president, the state electoral commission (PKW) said.
PKW said Nawrocki won 50.9% percent of the votes – ahead of Warsaw’s liberal mayor Rafal Trzaskowski on 49.1% percent.
Decades of safety from nuclear war obliterated by Ukrainian attack on Russia
Ukraine’s drone attack on Russia most successful in history and redefines military strategy

Zelensky said just hours before Ukrainian and Russian delegates meet for negotiations in Turkey’s capital Istanbul today, the attack on Vladimir Putin’s irreplaceable nuclear bombers ‘will undoubtedly be in [the] history books’.
The attack was carried out exactly 29 years to the day after Ukraine handed over dozens of the same strategic bombers to Russia, along with up to 2,000 strategic nuclear warheads and 176 ICBMs in exchange for a promise not to be attacked, under the Budapest Memorandum.
In their most daring attack of the war to date, Ukrainian special forces first smuggled 117 first-person view (FPV) kamikaze drones – which allow pilots to control them remotely through a live feed – into Russia.
Then came mobile wooden cabins, whose roofs had hidden compartments into which the small flying weapons were stashed.
They were loaded on to civilian trucks heading into enemy territory, their hired local drivers seemingly unaware of what they were carrying.
Finally, yesterday afternoon, with all the lorries within range of five airfields stretching from northern Russia down to Siberia – a safe 2,500 miles from Ukraine – they struck.
The roofs of the wooden cabins were opened remotely and the FPV drones took to the skies.

There are several major reasons for the downfall of the West and one of them is white people are prone to becoming extremely angry at each other. This attack may end peace negotiations. But it does appear to have been a brilliant military move, carried out with cunning and precision. I can admire that, even as I hope for peace and reproachment between these two very similar Slavic peoples with many centuries of shared history, and all of Europe. ABN

The forgotten side of skin health and the necessity of sunlight
…2. A large epidemiological study found women with higher solar UVB exposure had only half the incidence of breast cancer as those with lower solar exposure and that men with higher residential solar exposure had only half the incidence of fatal prostate cancer.
Note: a 50% reduction in either of these cancers greatly exceeds what any of the approaches we use to treat or prevent them have accomplished.
3. A 20 year prospective study evaluated 29,518 women in Southern Sweden where average women from each age bracket with no significant health issues were randomly selected, essentially making it one of the best possible epidemiologic studies that could be done. It found that women who were sun avoidant compared to those who had regular exposure to sunlight were:•Overall 60% more likely to die, being roughly 50% more likely to die than the moderate exposure group and roughly 130% more likely to die than the group with high sun exposure.
Note: to be clear, there are very few interventions in medicine that do anything close to this.
•The largest gain was seen in the risk of dying from heart disease, while the second gain was seen in the risk of all causes of death besides heart disease and cancer (“other”), and the third largest gain was seen in deaths from cancer.
Note: the investigators concluded the smaller benefit in reduced cancer deaths was in part an artifact of the subjects living longer and hence succumbing to a type of cancer that would have only affected them later in life.
• The largest benefit was seen in smokers, to the point non-smokers who avoided the sun had the same risk of dying as smokers who got sunlight.
Note: I believe this and the cardiovascular benefits are in large part due to sunlight catalyzing the synthesis of nitric oxide (which is essential for healthy blood vessels) and sulfates (which coat cells like the endothelium) and in conjunction with infrared (or sunlight) are what create the liquid crystalline water that is essential for the protection and function of the cardiovascular system).
So given all of this, I would say that you need a really good justification to avoid sun exposure.
This is an excerpt from the article Dermatology’s Disastrous War Against The Sun. I chose this section because the study is large, well-conducted and convincing. Ofc, the whole article is well-worth reading. ABN

Russia says blasts led to deadly train crashes in regions bordering Ukraine
Investigators say ‘explosions’ caused two bridges to collapse, triggering derailments and at least seven deaths
Russian investigators said they believed “explosions” had caused two bridges in the border regions of Kursk and Bryansk to collapse overnight, derailing trains, killing at least seven people and injuring dozens.
In Bryansk, which borders Ukraine, a road bridge collapsed on to a railway line late on Saturday, derailing a passenger train heading to Moscow and killing at least seven people. A rail bridge in neighbouring Kursk also collapsed overnight, derailing a freight train and injuring the driver, officials said. Kursk also borders Ukraine.
The twin bridge disasters came on the eve of possible peace talks in Turkey demanded by the US and aimed at ending the three-year-old war in Ukraine.
Almost certainly yet more Zelensky moves to derail peace negotiations. ABN

Inside the Pentagon, she crossed a line with Pete Hegseth — now she’s out
A pro-MAGA reporter who criticized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s treatment of the press at the Pentagon lost her job after speaking out.
Gabrielle Cuccia is a proud ‘MAGA girl’ who has long been outspoken about her adoration of President Trump.
But while working as the chief Pentagon correspondent at pro-Trump television channel One America News, Cuccia published a tell-all article to her personal Substack channel about the pitfalls of Hegseth’s leadership.
‘If you want the best case study for the death of the MAGA movement — look no further than the Department of Defense,’ she wrote.
‘People sleep on the Pentagon. They don’t realize what’s been simmering at the bottom for weeks, months, sometimes even years.’
Cuccia had expressed concerns Hegseth was blocking media access in the wake of his Signal scandal, in which a journalist was unintentionally added to a group chat with Hegseth where he openly shared sensitive details about an impending strike on Houthi targets in Yemen.
From that moment onwards, Cuccia said Hegseth shut down crucial communication points between the press and his staff in an effort to ‘reduce the opportunity for in-person inadvertent or unauthorized disclosures.’
‘Think of every time you hear a journalist reference a source as “Defense Official” or something abstract… a lot of times, it’s coming from these guys,’ she revealed about the Pentagon press office.
‘And they are always there to provide additional context, field questions, and relay the reality of ops in an unclassified manner.’
Her article was published on Monday. By Thursday, her boss had asked her to hand in her Pentagon access badge, and on Friday she was fired, she told CNN.
