Talent, competence, little to no government experience, at an age when complex mathematical learning happens fast: These are the factors that will produce excellent results. These guys give me more hope than anything that DOGE will succeed and USA will benefit enormously from it. The best of all possible outcomes is DOGE, plus whatever else Trump does, creates a peaceful Second American Revolution, which remakes our beautiful nation in its own best image and seals the deal by reorganizing government in a way which prevents the grotesque levels of corruption we have been experiencing. Thomas Jefferson called for a revolution every twenty years. Maybe that’s what we will need. I’ll take what we can get. It should be possible, however, that well-programmed AI coupled with open source and procedural transparency will be able to stop massive cheating and corruption within the US government. ABN
Secretary of State Marco Rubio says El Salvador’s president has offered to accept deportees from the U.S. of all nationalities as well as violent criminals now imprisoned in the United States.
The breakthrough from Rubio came as President Trump secured border protection agreements from both Canada and Mexico following a whirlwind day that began with a cratering stock market and the threat of a trade war.
Rubio said President Nayib Bukele ‘has agreed to the most unprecedented, extraordinary, extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world.’
‘He’s also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentence in the United States even though they’re U.S. citizens or legal residents.’
Rubio was visiting El Salvador on Monday to press a friendly government to do more to meet Trump administration demands for a major crackdown on immigration amid turmoil in Washington over the status of the government’s main foreign development agency.
‘President Bukele agreed to take back all Salvadoran MS-13 gang members who are in the United States unlawfully. He also promised to accept and incarcerate violent illegal immigrants, including members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, but also criminal illegal migrants from any country,’ State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.
‘And in an extraordinary gesture never before extended by any country, President Bukele offered to house in his jails dangerous American criminals, including U.S. citizens and legal residents,’ Bruce added.
This kind of verbal assault is a species of ‘mad dog’ attack. When repeated often it reminds sane people to say nothing on the topic. When millions engage in the same mad-dog attack for many decades, you find yourself where we are today. ABN
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee announced that it is going to war with National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)
In two letters sent to the CEOs of the outlets – Katherine Maher and Paula Kerger – Marjorie Taylor Greene, the DOGE subcommittee chair, called on them to testify on Capitol Hill to defend the government funding they use to share ‘systematically biased content.’
Greene said that the department plans to address its concerns about the station’s ‘blatantly ideological and partisan coverage’ at the hearing, scheduled for either the week of March 3 or March 24.
In each letter, the subcommittee gave examples of ‘bias’ reporting done by both NPR and PBS against Elon Musk – the head of DOGE – and cited NPR’s decision to not report on Hunter Biden‘s laptop scandal.
In the one sent to Kerger, the subcommittee said: ‘Recently PBS implied that Mr. Elon Musk made a fascist salute while addressing an inaugural celebration hours after President Donald Trump was sworn into office,’ referring to the Tesla CEO’s hand gesture that’s sparked major controversy online.
‘The characterization was clearly false’.
The letter sent to Maher cited NPR’s decision to not report on a laptop belonging to the former president’s son, which contained data critics claim implicates members of the Biden family in a corruption scandal.
Berliner worked for the outlet from 1999 until April 2024, as he blasted NPR for its far-left political bias, while also referring to the outlet as ‘an assembly line.’
‘There’s an unspoken consensus about the stories we should pursue and how they should be framed,’ Berliner wrote at the time.
‘It’s frictionless—one story after another about instances of supposed racism, transphobia, signs of the climate apocalypse, Israel doing something bad, and the dire threat of Republican policies. It’s almost like an assembly line.’
NPR has potential if their entire staff is thrown out the door. The lying, the lies by omission, the patronizing lefty mind-control, the smugness and also their constant hypnotic use of sing-song and childish voices appears designed to infantilize listeners. I am a big fan of voice variety and love all ways people speak. But NPR’s exclusive use of weak voices, beta-male voices, occasional strong female voices, is a clear attempt to lull listeners into a passive state and trick them into believing they know something when they don’t. I fully agree with Berliner in the highlight above. NPR’s content largely sucks, the speakers mostly suck, the politics is disgusting for a station receiving US tax dollars. It is a negative use of money and time when it could be made positive with new people. ABN
WASHINGTON — President Trump signed an executive order Monday to create a sovereign US wealth fund — saying that TikTok may become one of its first acquisitions.
The world’s largest and wealthiest sovereign funds are owned by China and resource-rich countries like Norway and Middle Eastern emirates.
“Other countries have sovereign wealth funds, and they’re much smaller countries, and they’re not the United States,” Trump said.
“As an example, TikTok, we’re going to be doing something perhaps … and we might put that in the sovereign wealth fund, whatever we make, or if we do a partnership with very wealthy people — a lot of options, but we could put that as an example in the fund.
“We have a lot of other things that we can put in the fund.”
“We’re going to stand this thing up in the next 12 months. We are going to monetize the asset side of the US balance sheet for the American people. We are going to put the assets to work,” Bessent said.
“And I think it’s going to be very exciting. We’ve studied best practices that’s done around the world. It will be a combination of liquid assets, assets that we have in this country as we work, work to bring them out for the American people.”
Lutnick added that “the extraordinary size and scale of the US government, and the business it does with companies should create value for American citizens.”
Over the last several days, the Trump administration’s move to strip USAID of its independence and be rolled into the State Department has been well-telegraphed with leaks and reports via media outlets.
If USAID is rolled into the State Department, Marco Rubio will ensure grant scrutiny, preventing taxpayer funds from being stuffed into the coffers of the Deep State. And this will ultimately mark a historic shift in America’s role in the world.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I hope this adage is not true on this matter, but passing it off to Rubio does not bode well. I remain optimistic, nonetheless. ABN
