WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Billionaire Elon Musk and his government efficiency team have been given access to the U.S. Treasury Department’s payment system, resolving a days-long standoff, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
Musk, who chairs the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency, has been tasked by President Donald Trump to identify fraud and waste in the government and had sought access to the system Treasury uses to dole out federal funds.
His efforts were resisted by a career Treasury official, David Lebryk, who was placed on leave this week and then retired. On Friday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave Musk’s team access, the Times reported.
The system sends out more than $6 trillion per year in payments on behalf of federal agencies and contains the personal information of millions of Americans who receive Social Security payments, tax refunds and other monies from the government.
Since President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, illegal alien encounters at the southern US border have plummeted an average of 94% during his first 9 days, compared to President Biden’s last 19 days in office.
During Trump’s first 9 days in office, after new border measures were implemented, there were an average of 126 daily encounters at the border vs. 2,087 per day during the last 2.5 weeks of the Biden administration.

I largely agree with this but what’s even more important for ‘them’ is to thoroughly weaken and debase the population in preparation for full totalitarian takeover. If it were just about the money, why were they flooding the country with illegals? Why the rash spending spree under Biden? Why all the money to Ukraine on a senseless war? Why the wasteful green energy and DEI boondoggle? In every policy we see the same or similar motive to poison the population, ruin education, poison the wells of truth and prosperity. This indicates wholesale war on USA through infiltration and takeover. Just one example is Mayorkas who acted like a hostile general working against USA by encouraging a flood of illegals while at the same time denying he was doing it. There are deeper and much worse motives than just balancing the books at play here. ABN
