Speech proscriptions and mental health
Speech proscriptions can be overt with legal ramifications.
Or they can be sort of covert, couched in ideas like good manners, respect, make no waves, maintain friendly relations, follow group norms, etc.
I believe the covert ones happen most basically because almost all people are terrible at speaking about their own subjective truths. And this leads to being terrible at hearing others’ subjective truths, even if they are well-expressed which is rare.
This problem arises from the pervasive, inherent ambiguity of language in general but especially spoken language.
Speech flies by and we are required to extract coherent meaning from bits of it. We make stories out of it and judge people, including ourselves, based on bad evidence.
Ambiguity in speech also requires us to maintain the same personas and most of the same beliefs for decades. We travel in herds of ideological banality due to it.
Staying the same is a way of projecting sort of unambiguous meaning even though we all know that deep down the whole thing is a bad game.
I used to be bothered by this, but stopped after I figured out FIML and practiced it with my partner for a few years.
After maybe five years, our speech started to become so much clearer it didn’t even feel like the same medium anymore. After ten years, it got so good it seems we may have transcended psychology as it is normally conceived.
This happened because psychology as normally conceived is massively based on speech ambiguity and the ways people react to it. Fact is, you probably should feel a bit crazy in most interpersonal situations because speech proscriptions mixed with compounding ambiguities cannot possibly allow the psychological freedom needed to be cognitively healthy.

That said, constant American hand-wringing over purported instances of nonviolent antisemitism since 10/07 is a study in misdirection, designed to distract the public from the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Netanyahu openly compares Palestinians to Biblical Amalek and openly advocates treating them the same, which to his ilk means kill all of them including women and children. Furthermore, there can be little doubt that Israeli authorities knew of the 10/7 raid and Let It Happen On Purpose if not Made It Happen On Purpose. Consider the morality of that in light of the aftermath. ABN

For this and several other reasons, there’s no point in me attempting to set up an account on Twitter in my own name.
Do remember that nobody was ever coming to save us, but that we don’t need someone to save us.
We need only want to save ourselves enough to make that a reality.

I usually avoid this kind of material but when it comes from Mike Yeadon, I make an exception. Whether Mike is right about Steve or not, it’s important to know what he is thinking. Also, I too suspect anyone with a meteoric large following. It’s so easy for the Deep State to raise anyone up or take anyone down, there has to be an unsavory reason for not being interfered with. The 10/07 MIHOP was a sort of litmus test in my mind. Those who avoided any mention of something so obvious and/or are screaming about antisemitism in USA as Gazans are being slaughtered in huge numbers is compromised at least in that area if not others as well. On a visit last month to the Genghis Khan Mausoleum in Inner Mongolia, a Chinese region triple the size of Japan and home to four million ethnic Mongolians, a local official explained that ritual celebrations of the conqueror have been curtailed.
Some 180 miles away in the regional capital of Hohhot, the history museum has gotten rid of its “Genghis Khan and His Empire” exhibit, along with any souvenirs featuring him in the gift shop. China last year even passed a law mandating that the Chinese language must be used over Mongolian in order to “safeguard national sovereignty.”
“Our ideology has changed,” a staff member at the museum in Hohhot said. “We are emphasizing unity and not highlighting any ethnicity over another.”
Xi sees ethnic minorities in China’s peripheral regions posing just as much a risk to the Communist Party as democracy activists in Hong Kong and independence advocates in Taiwan.
