Drone manufacturer Quantum Systems and the Lithuanian electronics company ADV Defense have signed an agreement for future cooperation.
The agreement lays the foundation for industrial partnership in the Baltic region, focusing on the use of unmanned systems in Lithuania and along the eastern flank.
The memorandum of understanding was signed at the German-Baltic Defense Industry Conference in Vilnius.
The partnership aims to combine German and Lithuanian expertise with technological innovations to create mission-proven unmanned systems and strengthen the defense-industrial base of the region.

The agreement supports Quantum Systems’ long-term strategy of establishing a strong industrial presence on NATO’s eastern flank. Currently, the company is building a large electronics manufacturing facility in Lithuania, which is set to double the production capacity of ADV Defense.
In the trial of Linda Sun, the former aide to New York governors who is accused of acting as a Chinese agent, the court has heard evidence that Sun forged the signature of Gov. Kathy Hochul, had close contact with Chinese consular staff, and purchased luxury items with payouts from China.

Lev Tahor, founded in the 1980s in the state of Israel, has long been described as the “Jewish Taliban”. Its roughly 300 members have migrated between Israel, Guatemala, Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Balkans, and Colombia, usually fleeing investigations, court orders, or criminal charges. Each time, the group arrives in a new country presenting itself as a persecuted religious minority. Each time, the pattern repeats: children disappear from schools, medical care is denied, marriages are arranged for children, pregnancy is forced, adults are violently controlled, and children are malnourished, uneducated, and neglected.
In December 2024, authorities rescued 160 children from a farm occupied by Lev Tahor. These children reported rampant abuse, coercion, and sexual violence. The Colombian prosecutor overseeing the case said the raid was launched due to credible suspicions of:
forced pregnancy
mistreatment of minors
sexual abuse and rape
child disappearance and parental separation
transnational movement of children without documentation

This study explores how changes in the Earth’s gravity field, measured by the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites between 2003 and 2015, can help us better understand the deep interior of our planet. These data may bring innovative information on mass redistributions near the boundary between the core and mantle. We detect an unusual gravity signal over the eastern Atlantic in early 2007 that evolved over several months and years. Around the same time, a distinct geomagnetic jerk was observed in the same region using satellite magnetic data. Our results suggest that this gravity signal originates deep within the Earth, near the base of the mantle. We propose that it may reflect rapid mass redistributions linked to a lower mantle mineral phase transition occurring in a thermally varied area at the base of deep mantle plumes, potentially causing dynamic changes in the core-mantle boundary’s shape over a few years.

U.S. Army M1A2 Abrams tank units have conducted intensively training at the Bemowo Piskie Training Area in Poland, with crews manoeuvring at least one of the vehicles through a water obstacle and mud fields.
Tanks were delivered from multiple locations across Poland to take part in the Forward Land Forces expansion exercise, with the Polish Armed Forces assisting in the coordination of rail transfers and managing of the training site.
Exercises were designed to rehearse mobility, sustainment, and positioning of heavy armour in Eastern Europe, simulated cold, mud-heavy terrain, and unpredictable temperature changes, which are common in the autumn and winter, and which can make it particularly difficult to operate tanks.
