Identity as a vortex or tautology

Our identities are fundamentally made up of semiotic matrices. That is to say, in part, that our identities have meaning; they mean something to us.

Often they mean a great deal to us and from them we derive the semiotics of motivation, intention, life-plans, many of our central interests, and so on.

Identities have strong emotional components, to be sure, but our emotions are ambiguous or diffuse if they are not positioned on a semiotic matrix and focused or defined by that matrix.

Identity is usually tautological in that its components, interests, and associations tend always to lead back to a few central elements. Often these elements have been inculcated in us by training. Some, we learn on our own. These elements are our values and beliefs, and also how these values and beliefs are understood and pursued.

The semiotics of identity must mean something to the person identifying with them. In this sense, they are almost always tautological. I do what I do because that is how I learned how to do it, think it, feel it, perceive it.

Most people are more adept at moving the parts of language around than they are at moving semiotic elements around. When semiotics are unconscious, they act like a vortex pulling perception, emotion, and understanding always toward the center of the identity. I think this is another way to say, in the Buddhist sense, that the self is empty; that it has no “own being.”

We can pursue an understanding of an empty self through Buddhist thought and practice, but we will get better results more quickly if we add a practice that deals directly with the semiotics of our identities.

Since there is no book you can go to to look up how your unique semiotics of identity works, you have to see for yourself how it works. You can do much of this on your own, but eventually you will need a partner because there is no way you will be able to get an objective perspective on yourself acting alone.

FIML practice is the only way I know of to fully see into and through the semiotics of your “identity.” Beneath identity there is a sort of artesian well of pure, undefined consciousness. FIML helps us experience that well while keeping us from rushing back into the tautological matrix of identity or static self-definition and clinging to it.

FIML is able to do this because FIML is process. FIML itself has no definition, only a procedure. It is not a tautology because it has no semiotic boundaries.

I wrote this ten years ago, before the rage of new identities was as hot as it is today. It provides a solid Buddhist view in modern terms of what an identity is and what its pitfalls can be, why all identities are fundamentally delusional. A point worth adding is you really do not need an identity. You can walk around all day long without ever thinking of your identity and you will be better for it. A persona or social thing we show others has some value when dealing with others but it is not an identity as described above or what you are in a deep sense. It is definitely not something to cling to. And it is not something to carve yourself up over. And it is absolutely not something to carve children up over. Clinging to a false self or tautological identity causes suffering; in fact, that is the cause of suffering as explained by the Buddha. Buddhist practice is all about not doing that, not clinging to a false self, a tautological identity, a delusion.

A word on what a persona or social thing is. It is a convenience in language and semiotics, a way of organizing speech and thought when dealing with others. That’s all it is. When we reify our personas or take them too seriously, we begin to delude ourselves and cause suffering through clinging and making bad decisions. ABN

How Arabs view the West — Gad Saad

Thirty years ago a Chinese Buddhist nun who is a close friend was appalled at the laxity of American immigration policy. Thirty years ago she said, ‘You are just giving everything to them. You are giving your country away!’ She could not comprehend it or respect it. To her it was immoral to give so unwisely while also failing to protect your own people. Buddhism emphasizes wisdom in all things. ABN

Kill-Or-Be-Killed (KOBK) Game Theory explained

‘The objective was to inject people with an intentionally dangerous substance, 17 million of whom have died so far’ — Michael Yeadon on the covid vaxxes

It does look like the plandemic was a ruse to use a bioweapon against primarily Western peoples and other regions which are closely allied with them. There could be other explanations but uptake of the vaxxes was pushed hardest in Western nations and its closest allies. This scenario is corroborated by virtually every other Western policy enacted before, during and since the plandemic — almost all of them have been patently harmful to Western civilization and peoples. The intense, organized mind-control used to promote the vaxxes proves premeditation, planning, and conscious intent. By this comment, I do not mean to diminish the considerable suffering of non-Western regions assaulted by the covid injections. Clearly the people responsible for the onslaught are perfectly content to harm them as well. The West almost certainly has been the central target of its usurpers because only the West, if united, has the power to thwart what must be their aspirations for global dominance. All of this is a major example of KOBK game theory. The likelihood of WW3 starting soon is surely also part of their plan to seize control of the world. The top perps are in a very heady do-or-die, Kill-Or-Be-Killed conundrum and cannot but go forward and will not back down. ABN

How citizens should assess news & information and respond to lies & coercion based on it

If the government coerces you to take an untested vax, while loudly declaring it is ‘safe & effective’, don’t take the vax and do not believe the agencies or people who tried to coerce you. The covid vax was particularly pernicious because it had to be injected into your bloodstream and did not even fit the normal definition of a vaccine. When the government changes the definitions of vaccines, which they did for covid, or anything else, be very suspicious.

These principles are obvious and easy to understand and are a good basis for mass non-compliance and disbelief in government coercion and lies. All that is required is did they lie about something important or did they coerce us to do something dangerous, in violation of our inalienable rights.

The same can be applied to history. We know they lied about WMD in Iraq and we also know (and knew at the time) that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 — therefore, knowing this, we should suspect their motives for all wars past and present and future. Rather than go into many examples of this, I am going to assume readers know what they are.

As for history, if it is illegal or massively frowned upon to question any historical event, we should be sure to question it. We must not allow politicians to tell us our First Amendment rights are a threat to ‘our’ (meaning their) democracy as John Kerry has done recently and Jacinda Ardern and many others did during the plandemic.

On this basis, it behooves all of us to question the Holocaust. It is ludicrous to make questioning that subject illegal, as it is in most of Europe, or scandalous as it is in USA.

That’s all. Civil non-compliance based on simple rules and examples as given above allow all citizens to lend their voices to most subjects without necessarily agreeing on every aspect. This is the most important kind of power we the people have. Totalitarianism cannot take over our nations or remain in power where it already has taken over if a majority of citizens see the lies and do not agree or comply. This kind of power is made super-duper strong if citizens also know that others know and if all of us know we all know. ABN

FLASHBACK 2020: The science behind the covid masks was MIND-CONTROL

Masks during covid were signs of compliance. They induced fear while distancing people from each other and from reason itself. Virtually all of ‘The Science’ during covid was mind-control through behavioral manipulation. Keeping six feet apart, arrows on the floor, staying inside out of the sun and fresh air, being arrested for going to the beach, etc — all of that was mind-control through controlling the body. When you do or don’t do something with your body, your mind will follow. Taking the vax was the ultimate irrational submission to authoritarian lies. ABN

How Joe Biden’s fury at being ‘overthrown’ by Kamala Harris now threatens to derail his VP’s campaign

President Joe Biden‘s relationship with his No. 2 has soured ever since she replaced him at the top of the Democrat‘s 2024 presidential ticket.

Vice President Kamala Harris‘ team has experienced increased tension with Biden’s staff, nearly a dozen people familiar with the situation detailed to Axios in a new report.

‘They’re too much in their feelings,’ a Harris ally said of Biden’s team.

In recent weeks, the conflict has simmered to the public where some actions have raised eyebrows over the tension between the president and his VP.

For example, Biden for the first time made a surprise appearance in the White House press briefing room on Friday – at the same time Harris was gearing up for a campaign event in Michigan.

This ensured that the VP’s event got less TV time and coverage than it would have otherwise.

What I have heard, and find credible, is Biden was drugged for about one week, kept off the stage and in a stupor, while Kamala took over. When he came out of his drug-induced haze, he came to realize how he had been overthrown. Notice, if true, that this is yet another significant use of poison as a political weapon. If ‘they’ can poison Biden to gain power, they can also poison millions of young people to keep them out of power and worse. This is how a deeply embedded clandestine army would work. A mere 10-50,000 operatives would be able to take over and control an entire civilization after just a few generations of using this strategy. See Military thought experiment Part 1 for more on this topic. Once you understand how easy it is to do something like this, you will understand why USA and the West has fallen so fast and so hard. US Will Send Air Defense Battery and American Troops to Israel to Bolster Defenses Against Iran

WASHINGTON — The United States will send a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense battery to Israel, along with the troops needed to operate it, the Pentagon said Sunday, even as Iran warned Washington to keep American military forces out of Israel.

Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin authorized the deployment of the THAAD battery at the direction of President Joe Biden. He said the system will help bolster Israel’s air defenses following Iran’s ballistic missile attacks on Israel in April and October.

The delivery of the sophisticated missile defense system risks further inflaming the conflict in the Middle East despite widespread diplomatic efforts to avoid an all-out war. The Iranian warning came in a post on the social platform X long associated with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who noted the earlier reports that the U.S. was considering the deployment.

‘We are being blackmailed by the Holocaust. This is wrong. Israel is a terrorist state’ — Polish MP Grzegorz Braun

Based solely on it being illegal to question the Holocaust in Europe and scandalous to do so in USA, we must question the Holocaust in Europe and USA. This is the correct way to think about mind-control and the correct way to deal with it. The deepest issue is mind-control. We must confront it and defeat it or we are doomed to Orwellian totalitarianism. ABN

How Scents Can improve Memory, Autism and Depression | Dr. Michael Leon

UPDATE: This video shows the value of novel experiences. What is most interesting to me is these novel experiences are fairly mundane, ordinary, simple and small — just new odors or fragrances. I believe novelty can also be found in many other simple and small things or experiences. And, it seems to me, many human moral and existential mistakes can be understood as excessive novelty-seeking. Taking strong drugs, overmuch or weird sex, committing crimes, riding motorcycles too fast (my own worst failing in this arena), etc. We can find deeply rewarding novelty through pursuing philosophy on our own; in meditation; in exploring psycholinguistics through FIML practice; taking a walk in the woods and allowing ourselves to get lost; just looking in a different direction or an unexpected direction right now. It is generally wiser to seek and find novelty in ways that are not excessive, meaning harmful to ourselves or others, or immoral. A lot can be learned about ourselves by analyzing how and why we seek novel experiences. A good deal of what you do may be novelty-seeking known to you by another name. Powerfully novel experiences than harm no one are the best. ABN

Tribalism begets tribalism

This is entirely normal human behavior, predicted by me and many others to be the inevitable response to treasonous massive immigration, illegal or not, fostered and promoted by treasonous government officials. In a world dominated by tribes, individuals are safer when they are members of a tribe. The West has generally attempted to become a non-tribal or post-tribal civilization based on individual rights and fairly administered laws. This attempt has failed not from the bottom up but from the top down. Government officials have grossly abused their powers and overstepped the bounds of human tribal tolerance. The more of this happens and the sooner it happens, the better — because the longer you wait the worse the problem will become. There is no stamping out tribalism without stamping out the British people. These statements apply to the entire West, given small differences due to regional conditions. It is not only not wrong to re-tribe, it is stupid not to. Westerners right now are paying for their own annihilation. ABN
