Starmer’s government has set the most dangerous of precedents: it can now outlaw any political group it chooses as a terrorist organisation – and thereby make it impossible to defend it
The moment the British government began proscribing political movements as terrorist organisations, rather than just militant groups, it was inevitable that saying factual things, making truthful statements, would become a crime.
And lo behold, here we are.
The Terrorism Act 2000 has a series of provisions that make it difficult to voice or show any kind of support for an organisation proscribed under the legislation, whether it is writing an article or wearing a T-shirt.
Recent attention has focused on Section 13, which is being used to hound thousands of mostly elderly people who have held signs saying: “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action.” They now face a terrorism conviction and up to six months in jail.
But an amendment introduced in 2019 to Section 12 of the Act has been largely overlooked, even though it is even more repressive. It makes it a terrorism offence for a person to express “an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation” and in doing so be “reckless” about whether anyone else might be “encouraged to support” the organisation.
It is hard to believe this clause was not inserted specifically to target the watchdog professions: journalists, human rights groups and lawyers. They now face up to 14 years in jail for contravening this provision.
Newsguard will note for their information filtering system, that Mayor Jacob Frey did not directly say residents of the region will start killing ICE agents. However, Mayor Frey did say if the ICE deportation operations continue, ICE agents are likely to be killed. The obvious question is, ‘who will do the killing, Jacob‘?

EU leaders from across the spectrum of their collective assembly, are furious with the administration of President Donald Trump for restricting their entry into the United States by blocking their visa permissions. However, these same EU leaders are the people who sent operatives into the United States in order to interfere in our 2024 election.
The Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, sums up the European position: “The decision by the U.S. to impose travel restrictions on European citizens and officials is unacceptable and an attempt to challenge our sovereignty. Europe will keep defending its values — freedom of expression, fair digital rules, and the right to regulate our own space.”
The “attempt to challenge our sovereignty” statement is a particular type of hubris when we consider THIS:

I would say that given the direct nature of the U.K effort to undermine American viewpoints, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is being diplomatically generous in his visa ban.

The Taiwan issue actually has nothing to do with the question of unification or independence. Because after the Communist Party seized power, it gave up territory exceeding more than 50 Taiwans. Just Outer Mongolia alone is already roughly 50 Taiwans. At the time when the Communist Party abandoned Outer Mongolia, Guo Moruo was the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Mao Zedong’s personal literati. He even wrote an article in the People’s Daily titled “Why We Should Cheer for the Independence of Outer Mongolia.” You can still find that article online. So, if you add in things like the Northeast, it might exceed 100 Taiwans—no exaggeration. Yes, and territories disputed with Kazakhstan, Myanmar, and Vietnam—all of them were completely abandoned by the Communist Party. Therefore, the Taiwan issue is not a territorial problem, nor is it about unification or independence, and it’s not about economics or technology either. The only reason the Communist Party wants to take Taiwan is because Taiwan’s very existence highlights the evil of the Communist Party’s dictatorship.
Chinese government circulated sexually explicit deepfakes of dissident Yao Zhang
Yao Zhang says she doesn’t have any friends, yet every week, thousands of her 175,000 YouTube subscribers tune in to her channel to listen to her live takes on Chinese current affairs.
“China isn’t a democratic country. Everyone suffers in that regime,” Zhang told Radio-Canada during an interview held somewhere between Montreal and Quebec City.
Concerned for her safety, the 39-year-old guards any information that could give away her location.
And for good reason: the Quebec YouTuber, who refuses to be silenced, has been the target of an intimidation campaign by the Chinese government for over a year.
“I have to be very, very careful,” she said. “I stopped all communications with the Chinese community because I don’t know who I can trust.”
