UPDATED: All American laws are ultimately pragmatic. This includes SCOTUS rulings on the Constitution as well as district prosecutors deciding how to work a case. Sending a plane-load of violent illegals to El Salvador was a pragmatic decision as it removed some of the worst and also sends a strong message to others of their ilk to get out of the country. The U.S. military will take control of a strip of federal land that spans three states along the southern border in an effort to stem illegal immigration, a memorandum Friday by President Donald Trump said.
The memorandum, “Military Mission for Sealing the Southern Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions,” directs the secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture and Homeland Security “to provide for the use and jurisdiction by the Department of Defense over such Federal lands, including the Roosevelt Reservation and excluding Federal Indian Reservations, that are reasonably necessary to enable military activities.”
He wrote it could include “border-barrier construction and emplacement of detection and monitoring equipment.”
“Our southern border is under attack from a variety of threats,” Trump wrote in the memorandum. “The complexity of the current situation requires that our military take a more direct role in securing our southern border than in the recent past.”
The federal land, which consists of a narrow, 60-foot-deep strip at the border within the Roosevelt Reservation, would become a “military installation” designated as “National Defense Areas” where “military activities” would occur.
The Trump administration has ordered immigration agents to verify whether migrants have submitted their names and personal information to an online registry as part of an expansion of the president’s mass deportation effort.
If migrants fail to register or don’t carry proof of their registration with them, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are being told to “treat the alien’s case as an immigration enforcement priority” and to “refer the case to the US Department of Justice for criminal prosecution,” according to the memo.
An ICE source said they believe many illegal migrants won’t register, becoming prime targets for arrest and deportation.

Articolo 52 is an urban patrol unit that has recently formed in Milan. The name is a reference to Article 52 of the Italian constitution, which declares that Italians have a sacred duty to defend their homeland. The young men of Articolo 52 have accepted their duty.
They are a movement against the crime and degradation plaguing their city. Their enemies are the “maranza”: criminal gangs of other youths, often from North Africa. In Italy, 39% of the inmates in Italian prisons come from North Africa, the same Maghrebi countries from which the majority of recent migration into Italy originates.
At the level of juvenile crime, it’s even more alarming. As of January 2024, 51% of juvenile detainees are foreign. Of that 51%, 77% are from North Africa. Articolo 52 is taking them head on.
The sooner groups like this form, the better. When politicians run the government like they own it and ignore obvious threats to their constituents and nations, normal people eventually will act. Article 4 Section 4 requires the president to halt any invasion and no district court can override that mandate. For the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
