The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results for 2024 were released on Wednesday and the results are nothing short of disastrous for Maine’s public schools.
The NAEP, which measures the reading and mathematics proficiency of 4th grade and 8th grade students in American public schools, is one of the few nationwide standardized tests policy makers can use to evaluate the efficacy of public education systems.
By any standard, Maine is failing relative to its peers, though almost no state in the Union can boast a meaningful return on the higher-than-ever rates of per pupil spending.
Per the NAEP results for Maine, one-third of 4th graders and less than a quarter of 8th graders are proficient or advanced in math. In reading, just 26 percent of students in grades 4 and 8 are proficient or advanced. Relative to other states, Maine now ranks 43rd in 4th grade math, 27th in 8th grade math, 43rd in 4th grade reading, and 35th 8th grade reading.
If those results weren’t shocking enough, Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy has compared NAEP performance in every state with the state’s growth in per pupil spending. According to the University’s Edunomics Lab report, Maine students’ test schools have dropped even as per pupil spending has skyrocketed.
I am focusing a bit on Maine because I am reasonably familiar with the state and dismayed at how savagely it is being ‘Californicated’. Much of the Maine tax money spent is graft going to friends and family or spent on housing illegals brought from afar at taxpayer expense. Under Biden, the more illegals Maine imported the more the federal government paid out. Maine is experiencing the same rapid downfall that happened in Oregon, which followed California quickly into one-party leftist dystopian rule. It is very difficult in USA to prevent dishonest cliques of whatever makeup from worming their way into power and then exploiting their positions. They can be called parasites because they do so much harm, which can be seen in the chart above though the harm is even worse than that. General Mark Milley, Liz Cheney and Anthony Fauci are the shiny ‘look over there’ thing. Yes, Milley broke the chain of command and is guilty of usurpation of government. Yes, Liz Cheney conducted an unlawful and manipulative operation using the J6 committee as a vehicle against Donald Trump. Yes, Anthony Fauci lied to congress about his involvement in the creation of the SARS-CoV-2 bioweapon program. Yes to all of it…. Newly declassified bombshell records of an infamous CIA mind control program, MKUltra, reveal how Americans were drugged and tortured more than 60 years ago.
The collection of more than 1,200 pages detail how the CIA used induced sleep, electroshocks and ‘psychic driving’ on drugged subjects who were psychologically tortured for weeks or months to reprogram their minds.
The subjects included criminals, mental patients and drug addicts, but also Army soldiers and average citizens who were given drugs without their knowledge.
A total of 144 projects were conducted from 1953 to 1964, aimed at developing procedures and drugs that could be used during interrogations, weakening individuals and forcing confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture.
While it has long been said that subjects only included prisoners, mental patients and drug addicts, one report showed that some CIA and Army officials and ‘subjects in normal life settings’ were ‘unwittingly’ given LSD over the decade-long experiment.
In a newly unsealed document from 1956, researchers were developing ‘an anti-interrogation drug’ by testing ‘materials capable of producing alterations in the human central nervous system which are reflected as alterations in human behavior.’

This is interesting and hard to parse. Our government has without question been infiltrated by ‘scum’. USA is ‘breaking down’. Is there a faction in the CIA that has not been infiltrated? If not, who can we turn to? Many believe Trump is going to usher in a security state we will never get rid of. But what would it look like if he were really trying to clean up the government? Probably no different. We the plebs have little choice in how Trump decides to act. We can offer mass resistance if it goes badly and support if it goes well, but need to be careful how we decide either way. I am inclined to give Trump the benefit of the doubt for at least three months. We can expect a hard crackdown on illegals, and may also see crackdowns on government ‘scum’, human traffickers, cartels, gangs, fentanyl, terrorist sleeper cells, corrupt state and local officials, sanctuary cities and sanctuary states. Let’s hope for the best. There is no way Trump is not part of the elite and no way he is not the public figurehead of that part of the elite. Politics is the art of the possible. I expect Trump to be significantly better than Biden and accept that he has to go full bore or go nowhere at all. ABN
