Does the Universe think? (with Bernardo Kastrup)

228

UPDATE: I’ve watched 45 minutes of this and, so far, it is a beautiful model of how to talk. These guys are both trained philosophers and act like it. They listen charitably (means use the best possible interpretation of what they hear) to each other, delight in rebuttals, and quickly and easily clear up misunderstandings with evident pleasure as they move almost seamlessly together deeper and deeper into their topic without losing sight of where they want to go. Maybe at minute 46 they are going to kill each other in a fit of anger, who knows? Up to minute 45, they provide an exquisite example of how to talk about philosophy. And what FIML can teach partners about how to talk to each other.

The field of FIML is not philosophy per se. It is the idiosyncratic intermeshed fields of the FIML partners themselves. I have often said FIML has no content save what partners bring to it. FIML is a technique which reveals what our content is, what we are bringing to our relationship. Once both partners see clearly through the eyes and ears of each other what both of you are bringing, you will also delight in the fun of being able to talk as well as Kastrup and Hawkins (but about much more than just philosophy). I doubt either one of them does FIML and both of them might find it difficult since so much of their psycholinguistic constellations are defined by academic philosophy, but I know they could do it if they tried. 8.7-Million-Year-Old Fossil Suggests Ancestors of Humans and African Apes Evolved in Europe

The origin of the hominines (African apes and humans) is among the most hotly debated topics in paleoanthropology.

The traditional view, ever since Charles Darwin, holds that hominines and hominins (humans and fossil relatives) originate in Africa, where the earliest hominins are found and where all living non-human hominines live.

More recently a European origin has been proposed, based on the analysis of Late Miocene apes from Europe and Central Anatolia.

Anadoluvius turkae attests to a lengthy history of hominines in Europe, with multiple species in the eastern Mediterranean known for at least 2.3 million years.

“Our findings further suggest that hominines not only evolved in western and central Europe but spent over 5 million years evolving there and spreading to the eastern Mediterranean before eventually dispersing into Africa, probably as a consequence of changing environments and diminishing forests,” said Professor David Begun, a paleontologist at the University of Toronto.

“The members of this radiation to which Anadoluvius turkae belongs are currently only identified in Europe and Anatolia.”

‘Unprecedented risk’ to life on Earth: Scientists call for halt on ‘mirror life’ microbe research

World-leading scientists have called for a halt on research to create “mirror life” microbes amid concerns that the synthetic organisms would present an “unprecedented risk” to life on Earth.

The international group of Nobel laureates and other experts warn that mirror bacteria, constructed from mirror images of molecules found in nature, could become established in the environment and slip past the immune defences of natural organisms, putting humans, animals and plants at risk of lethal infections.

Although a viable mirror microbe would probably take at least a decade to build, a new risk assessment raised such serious concerns about the organisms that the 38-strong group urged scientists to stop work towards the goal and asked funders to make clear they will no longer support the research.

“The threat we’re talking about is unprecedented,” said Prof Vaughn Cooper, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Pittsburgh. “Mirror bacteria would likely evade many human, animal and plant immune system responses and in each case would cause lethal infections that would spread without check.”

Subject: email from Edgar for John Podesta (c/o Eryn): meeting request

Dear John,

Now that you are no longer serving in the White House, I write to you and Eryn requesting our face to face meeting to discuss zero point energy and Disclosure.

Our Quantrek science intuitive has provided us with a few facts about our nonviolent contiguous universe ETI who promote PACIFISM among humans and with whom we work:

1. All true ETI do not inhabit this universe.

2. So-called ETIs inhabit this universe and are in fact just celestials. They are higher in rank then discarnate spirits, even those who are evolved, HOWEVER, THEY JUST MIRROR VIOLENCE ON EARTH, FEELING THREATENED BY CONTAMINATION OF THEIR ABODE.

3. Extrauinversal ETIs on the other hand have long ago evolved past violence, relying on spiritual intelligence to avert destruction.

4. The Phoenix Lights and other sightings have provided ample evidence that Earth has been visited by beings whose intention is purely peace and who have nonviolently hovered over Phoenix and other sites, waiting to be asked to help, when they could most easily have destroyed the city with their uses of consciousness. These sightings have been witnessed by thousands of people in Phoenix alone, including my colleague Terri Mansfield, who will accompany me on our meeting with you.

Please let me now three dates and times that would work for your schedule.

Best regards,

Edgar

Zero-point energy explained; energy from the vacuum

The following quotes are from The Field by Lynne McTaggart. You’re going to want to read this.

There is one giant reservoir of energy we haven’t talked about,’ Hal said. Every quantum physicist, he explained, is well aware of the Zero Point Field. Quantum mechanics had demonstrated that there is no such thing as a vacuum, or nothingness. What we tend to think of as a sheer void if all of space were emptied of matter and energy and you examined even the space between the stars is, in subatomic terms, a hive of activity.

This subatomic tango, however brief, when added across the universe, gives rise to enormous energy, more than is contained in all the matter in all the world. Also referred to by physicists as ‘the vacuum’, the Zero Point Field was called ‘zero’ because fluctuations in the field are still detectable in temperatures of absolute zero, the lowest possible energy state, where all matter has been removed and nothing is supposedly left to make any motion.

Zero-point energy was the energy present in the emptiest state of space at the lowest possible energy, out of which no more energy could be removed – the closest that motion of subatomic matter ever gets to zero. But because of the uncertainty principle there will always be some residual jiggling due to virtual particle exchange. It had always been largely discounted because it is ever-present. In physics equations, most physicists would subtract troublesome zero-point energy away – a process called ‘renormalization’. Because zero-point energy was ever-present, the theory went, it didn’t change anything. Because it didn’t change anything, it didn’t count.

If Boyer were to be believed, it meant that you didn’t need two types of physics – the classical Newtonian kind and the quantum laws – to account for the properties of the universe. You could explain everything that happened in the quantum world with classical physics – so long as you took account of the Zero Point Field.

Hal’s discovery, in a sense, was not a discovery at all, but a situation that physicists have taken for granted since 1926 and discarded as immaterial. To the quantum physicist, it is an annoyance, to be subtracted away and discounted. To the religious or the mystic, it is science proving the miraculous. What quantum calculations show is that we and our universe live and breathe in what amounts to a sea of motion – a quantum sea of light.

What this implies, says Hal, is a ‘kind of self-regenerating grand ground state of the universe’, which constantly refreshes itself and remains a constant unless disturbed in some way. It also means that we and all the matter of the universe are literally connected to the furthest reaches of the cosmos through the Zero Point Field waves of the grandest dimensions.

Bernardo Kastrup: A Research Conversation in Consciousness

2:14

I agree with a lot of what Kastrup says in this discussion. One important thing he seems to be missing or misunderstanding (or chose not to discuss) is the fundamental dramatic nature of consciousness, of conscious life, which as with everything else is fundamental to nature itself as he describes it. Nature is not just impersonal forces or impersonal thought or impersonal anything but also drama. The dramas are bigger than us, just as all of nature is. And there are more beings than just humans who participate in these dramas. And we are all touched at many levels and in many ways by drama. We are not just traveling on an impersonal road only able at best to feel contented, well situated, in tune. We are also actors in dramas, some of which are our own making, some not. I like the way he says motives or intentions flow through him but are not his; they are elements of impersonal nature. I think he is inkling the dramas when he senses that. ABN

Quantum Leap: Scientists Reveal the Shape of a Single Photon for the First Time

Researchers have developed a new quantum theory that for the first time defines the precise shape of a photon, showing its interaction with atoms and its environment.

This breakthrough allows for the visualization of photons and could revolutionize nanophotonic technologies, enhancing secure communication, pathogen detection, and molecular control in chemical reactions.

Scientists at the University of Birmingham, whose work is featured in Physical Review Letters, have delved into the intricate behavior of photons — individual particles of light. Their research reveals how photons are emitted by atoms or molecules and how their shape is influenced by the surrounding environment.

Quantum Challenges and Breakthroughs

This complex interaction gives rise to infinite possibilities for light to exist and move through its surroundings. However, this vast potential makes modeling these interactions an incredibly difficult challenge—one that quantum physicists have been tackling for decades.

By grouping these possibilities into distinct sets, the Birmingham team was able to produce a model that describes not only the interactions between the photon and the emitter, but also how the energy from that interaction travels into the distant ‘far field’.

Master Exothermic Core-Mantle Decoupling – Dzhanibekov Oscillation (ECDO) Theory

Within this summary, we outline a novel theory, the result of 25 years of research on the part of its author, comprising three primary novel hypotheses that link recent climate changes to specific alterations in the Earth’s core and mantle. These changes are proposed to lead to a decoupling of Earth’s core and mantle, which may result in a recurrence of the cataclysmic inundations mentioned in many cultural mythologies. The three hypotheses are summarized in the articles below.

The linked article is brief, succinct and very clearly written. I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with the ideas presented. It’s a good read. ABN

Scientists Reveal a Shocking Solution to The Chicken or Egg Paradox

Life on Earth may have developed the ability to form embryos even before it grew the very first animals.

A single-celled organism that lives burrowed in the muck beneath shallow seas bears a startling resemblance to animal embryos as it reproduces, says a team of scientists led by biochemist Marine Olivetta of the University of Geneva. The way it divides itself resembles the process of embryonic cell division.

The organism in question is an Ichthyosporean microbe called Chromosphaera perkinsii, and since it has been around for over a billion years, long before the first animals emerged, its existence suggests that life developed the programming for eggs before the eggs themselves.

“Although C. perkinsii is a unicellular species,” explains biochemist Omaya Dudin of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, “this behavior shows that multicellular coordination and differentiation processes are already present in the species, well before the first animals appeared on Earth.”

Germ theory critical excess? My present discomfort with absolute denial of ‘germ theory’ — Denis Rancourt

I am sympathetic to the view that human-contagious-disease-causing viruses have not been demonstrated to exist. So far, these demonstrations have not convinced me, despite my earnest study.

I tend to agree with the Drs Bailey who have laid out their views on this and many aspects of the Corona declared pandemic in their brilliant new (and amply referenced) small book “The Final Pandemic”. And I tend to agree with the most influential critical textbooks on the question, which I have listed here.

HUMAN GENERATED CO2: NO MEASURABLE AFFECT

The latest peer-reviewed study ONCE AGAIN confirms that anthropogenic (human-generated) CO2 has had “a negligible affect” on the Earth’s greenhouse impact over the past 150 years.

The notion of a CO2 “climate crisis” is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL HOAX.

Key Finding: “Human CO₂ emissions represent 4% of the total, which means that the total human contribution to the enhancement of the greenhouse effect is 0.16% to 0.20% —a negligible effect. Irrespective of the origin of the increase of [CO₂] in the last century, its contribution to the greenhouse effect is about 0.5%, below any threshold to make it observable”
