“That would mean a much simpler messaging to the public to stay at home if sick,” she said.
Under this scenario, the testing and reporting of cases would evolve to only be necessary for people entering hospitals – similar to what happens with flu – with isolation focused on vulnerable groups.
“I’m not saying that that’s going to come in now, but that could be a future scenario if you are not worried about disease (severity),” she said.
