Was a result of decades of anti-male, anti-savior complex, anti-real-heroism training. It came and is still coming from many directions, many voices. What some pathologize as “the savior complex” is at its base an instinct to protect, to save, to risk your life for others, especially women and children if you are a man. Train it out of people and that’s what you get.
All instincts can be moderated through training, even one as basic as that.
