  1. sadly, it appears that all protests these days are futile, even counterproductive. How about the world wide protests against the Iraq War? I believe they were the largest ever. Did they stop the war? People want to protest because it makes them feel like they are doing SOMETHING, but I don’t see it ever accomplishing anything, and sometimes the protests devolve into violence… sigh… :-(
