I have posted on this telltale explosion before but it bears repeating. Jon Bray’s work explaining the weaponry used to kill Kirk can be found here. To date, imo, Bray has provided the most likely explanation of precisely how Kirk was murdered; what was used, where it was placed, and how it performed. ABN
