This is exactly why global governance is a horrible idea! The world is NOT doomed. The world is just fine. Humans are NOT doomed. Humans will do just fine. What is doomed is doomed thinking, an extremely pessimistic negative outlook on the future. I know that some people have that kind of outlook, and maybe that can’t be changed. But letting people with that kind of out look rule the world is completely insanity.
