Gavin Newsom has been forced to revoke 17,000 commercial driver’s licenses given to illegal migrants after being called out by Donald Trump‘s transportation secretary.
Newsom made the crucial change amid mounting pressure by Sean Duffy after multiple incidents involving the licenses, including an October crash where three people died in a horrific highway collision allegedly caused by an illegal migrant.
‘After weeks of claiming they did nothing wrong, Gavin Newsom and California have been caught red-handed,’ Duffy said.
California has informed the licensees they will no longer be valid in 60 days time, with Duffy adding there’s more to come.
‘This is just the tip of the iceberg,’ Duffy said. ‘My team will continue to force California to prove they have removed every illegal immigrant from behind the wheel of semitrucks and school buses.’
Handing commercial licenses out like candy is dangerous. Many illegals do not know how to drive a large truck and/or cannot read traffic signs. There have been a good many fatal accidents due to that. It’s not a small thing on that score. But also it degrades our normal great respect for bona fide American truck drivers, most of whom are experts at the wheel and considerate of other drivers. ABN
