I do not buy this. There may be some truth in it but it works more as a cover up than an explanation of the demise of USA and the collective West. What really has been happening is a gradual, many decades-long poisoning of Western civilization not just in the ways Fitts says but also covertly in huge numbers. Conditional support for Marco Rubio
He has been surprisingly good as Secretary of State. He is a good talker, straight to the point, does not pull punches. He appears to be doing what Trump wants him to do and doing it well. He is on-track for a strong presidential campaign in 2028. He also has this rope around his neck:
How he handles his handlers is a major sign of how he will govern USA. So far, he has walked the line reasonably well. He has removed student visa-holders for anti-Israeli and anti-Gaza massacre activities. BUT he has also repeatedly championed American free speech rights.
Free speech is our most important right. If all if us can agree on that, we have some chance of surviving technological totalitarianism.
In the real world where Rubio is a real player today and a real presidential candidate in future, these aspects of American politics and law must be kept in mind.

Trump Taps Palantir to Create Master Database on Every American
The Trump administration is collecting data on all Americans, and they are enlisting the data analysis company Palantir to do it.
The New York Times reports that President Trump has enlisted the firm, founded by far-right billionaire Peter Thiel, to carry out his March executive order instructing government agencies to share data with each other. The order has increased fears that the government is putting together a database to wield surveillance powers over the American public.
Since then, the administration has been very quiet about these efforts, increasing suspicion. Meanwhile, Palantir has taken more than $113 million in government spending since Trump took office, from both existing contracts and new ones with the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. That number is expected to grow, especially given that the firm just won a new $795 million contract with the DOD last week.
Palantir is speaking with various other agencies across the federal government, including the Social Security Administration and the IRS, about buying its technology, according to the Times. Palantir’s Foundry tool, which analyzes and organizes data, is already being used at the DHS, the Department of Health and Human Services, and at least two other agencies, allowing the White House to compile data from different places.
This is an opinion piece, slanted toward privacy and against totalitarianism, but I do not see how anyone can stop data collection. Information about us is everywhere and easily gathered. It can be weaponized and probably will. How do you stop it? If USA does not do it, others will. Information knows no borders. How Russia Revived the Soviet Tochka Solid Fuel Ballistic Missile Arsenal For War in Ukraine
The escalation of war in Ukraine to a period of full scale hostilities in February 2022 quickly saw ballistic and cruise missile strike capabilities gain central importance to the war efforts of both Moscow and Kiev, with Russian Iskander-M missile systems gaining particular prominence for the wide range of roles in which they have been used.
From early 2024 the Russian Armed Forces have been able to launch ballistic missile strikes at significantly higher rates, primarily due to both the procurement of significant quantities of KN-23 ballistic systems from North Korea, and successes in expanding production of the Iskander-M’s 9K720 missiles domestically. Lacking sufficient Iskander-M missiles in the preceding 22 months of hostilities, however, the Russian Armed Forces were able to compensate by bringing recently retired Soviet OTR-21 Tochka-U ballistic missile systems back into service.
The Tochka system was previously deployed by the Soviet Armed Forces as a shorter ranged counterpart to the Scud and Oka missiles, with the retirement of the Scud due to its age, and the Oka due to pressure from the United States, leaving it as Russia’s only tactical ballistic missile class in service until the Iskander-M began to enter service in the 2006.

Rubio spearheads massive State Dept reorganization set to eliminate, merge more than 300 offices
New State Department reorganization plans will cut or consolidate more than 300 of the agency’s offices and bureaus as part of a massive overhaul seeking to streamline the department, according to agency officials.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio first announced plans in April to restructure the agency because the department was “bloated, bureaucratic, and unable to perform its essential diplomatic mission.”
The State Department submitted a notice to Congress Thursday disclosing plans for the overhaul — the largest restructuring for the agency since the Cold War, senior State Department officials told Fox News Digital.
The agency’s overhaul aims to cut red tape so the department can respond to threats more quickly, place greater emphasis on the agency’s “primary mission” representing the U.S. abroad and eliminate “bureaucratic overgrowth” in Washington, the congressional notice said.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade. Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?
Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be? I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I use The Federalist Society as a recommending source on Judges. I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb of a real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions. He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is!
In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own “thing.” I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations. This is something that cannot be forgotten! With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others. They always must do what’s right for the Country!
In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get. It is the difference between having a rich, prosperous, and successful United States of America, and quite the opposite. The ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade is so wrong, and so political! Hopefully, the Supreme Court will reverse this horrible, Country threatening decision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY. Backroom “hustlers” must not be allowed to destroy our Nation!

In other words, hundreds of politicians would sit around D.C. for weeks, and even months, trying to come to a conclusion as to what to charge other Countries that are treating us unfairly. Two weeks ago China was in grave economic danger! The very high Tariffs I set made it virtually impossible for China to TRADE into the United States marketplace which is, by far, number one in the World. We went, in effect, COLD TURKEY with China, and it was devastating for them. Many factories closed and there was, to put it mildly, “civil unrest.” I saw what was happening and didn’t like it, for them, not for us. I made a FAST DEAL with China in order to save them from what I thought was going to be a very bad situation, and I didn’t want to see that happen. Because of this deal, everything quickly stabilized and China got back to business as usual. Everybody was happy! That is the good news!!! The bad news is that China, perhaps not surprisingly to some, HAS TOTALLY VIOLATED ITS AGREEMENT WITH US. So much for being Mr. NICE GUY!
