CHISINAU, Nov 3 (Reuters) – Moldova’s pro-Western incumbent Maia Sandu claimed victory at Sunday’s closely-fought presidential election, defeating Alexandr Stoianoglo, her rival backed by the traditionally pro-Russian Socialist Party.
With 98% of the ballots counted, Sandu led Stoianoglo with 54.35%, the Central Election Commission said at the end of an election and campaign that were marred by persistent allegations of interference denied by Russia.
The victory for the 52-year-old ex-World Bank adviser, who has accelerated the nation’s push to leave Moscow’s orbit and join the European Union, is seen by her supporters as an endorsement of the resolutely pro-Western course she has tacked.
But Stoianoglo’s dominance across swathes of the country suggests her party faces a stiff challenge at key parliamentary elections next summer that will decide the composition of the government.

It is because people with some higher cognitive training (but not quite enough) tend to become deeply entranced by the mores and strictures of their fields of study and those who teach them. Math, some hard sciences and engineering are somewhat less likely to have this problem because of objective rigor and subject matter less conducive to hypnosis. Once instilled, a trance state will be passed down from one generation to the next, often causing one generation after another to become weaker, less thoughtful, and even more entranced. Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Tel Aviv faces an unprecedented challenge that threatens the Middle East and the entire world, claiming Iran is working to develop nuclear weapons aimed at destroying “Israel” and possesses long-range missiles capable of reaching intercontinental targets.
Netanyahu accused Iran of supplying its regional proxies with deadly weapons, positioning Israeli Occupation as a barrier against what he called “Iran’s evil plans.” He added, “If Israel falls, the whole world falls. But we will not lose; we will win for all humanity.”

The nation of Georgia has learned from watching what the USA did in Ukraine; they want no part of it. The “Georgia Dream” party is essentially the Georgia equivalent of the U.S. MAGA party. Pragmatic, clear-eyed, nationalist-minded voters who do not want the CIA arm of USAID meddling in their affairs.
The majority of the people in Georgia do not support the continual bloodshed in Ukraine, they are pragmatic with their views toward Russia, and they don’t want the USA and Brussels determining their politics for them. Georgia Dream is like a Georgia-First party. They had an election last weekend and retained control over parliament.
Once again, Brussels leadership just cannot accept the result of the Georgia election and have vowed an investigation. The U.S. is promising to punish the people of Georgia for supporting the conservative government. A previous application to join the EU bloc is now in limbo, as Brussels and the U.S State Dept now try to figure out their next steps.
