Emotional Neglect and Emotional Invalidation Aren’t the Same

Emotional invalidation is an active process in which someone tries to negate, criticize, override, or quash your feelings.

In contrast, pure emotional neglect can be delivered passively with no direct action, making it difficult to see or remember.

The way you end up treating your own emotions as an adult is affected by having either of these experiences growing up.

A very brief thumbnail related to this is child abuse in Asian cultures tends to be controlling and active, while in Western cultures it tends toward being neglectful. Some aspects of an abusive childhood can be turned to your advantage. Neglect does make you realize you are on your own at an early age. When this realization comes to you at age four, you have a tough row ahead of you but your foundation in many ways is very solid. There are many more examples like this. ABN

Doctors & Psychotherapists: Butchers & Liars

All on its own, Woke has wandered into an existential reductio ad absurdum which demonstrates conclusively that not only gender reassignment for children but almost all of what they stand for is absurd, even cruel and grossly impractical. Though they cannot see it themselves, most of the rest of us can. Reductio ad absurdum is an argument that proves its opposite by “reducing itself to absurdity.” Woke has lived that argument long enough that we may be at a major turning point where everything about their shitty ideas goes poof all at once. The Science On Brain Development Rebukes Those Pushing Gender Transition On Kids

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is currently considering publishing regulations that will push for potentially irreversible medical and surgical interventions for people with gender dysphoria in the name of health care. In April, HHS Assistant Secretary Rachel L. Levine stated “gender affirming care is medical care” and included children and adolescents in that equation.

Levine also reaffirmed a principle articulated by Hippocrates that physicians should do no harm. Can a physician provide interventions like potentially sterilizing hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents without doing harm? Research on adolescent brain development and decision-making indicates these two concepts are contradictory.

Oregon psilocybin rules shape who can provide and access care

Oregon has been working on rules that outline how to implement the psilocybin measure that passed in 2020. The Oregon Health Authority recently released one set of its final rules for the therapeutic use of psilocybin. And the agency began accepting applications this week for programs to train those who want to provide the service. Oregon is the first state to pass a law to provide the psychedelic in a supervised setting, but a handful of cities have decriminalized small amounts of the drug. Mason Marks was a member of the advisory board until a few months ago and also provides legal advice to businesses and cities around the country. He wrote the psilocybin ordinance Seattle city councilors passed last year. He joins us to give us an overview of the latest rules and update us on the timing of the rollout. He also explains how OHA’s approved rules differ from some of the recommendations of the advisory board — and why it matters.

Connecticut to permit psychedelic-assisted therapy, using MDMA and psilocybin

After receiving bipartisan support from representatives of the Connecticut state legislature, Governor Ned Lamont signed a tax bill that includes a pilot program that will provide psychedelic-assisted therapy, using MDMA and psilocybin, to qualifying veterans, retired first-responders, and frontline workers such as police and firefighters. Originally drafted as the House Bill 5396, the program is designed to give access to psychedelic medicines to a population deprived of options for mental health treatments, ahead of FDA approval.

The bill is the first in the nation to provide access to these substances, which are illegal federally, by citing the FDA’s Expanded Access Program. According to the FDA website, the EAP offers a “potential pathway” to patients with a serious disease or condition “to gain access to an investigational medical product… for treatment outside of clinical trials when no comparable or satisfactory alternative therapy options are available.”

This point is crucial to understanding the blindness wee see so often concerning covid. ABN

Mass formation is driven by information media

Dr Mattias Desmet on people who are in mass formation and keep taking them in the arm every six months. They are psychologically dependent. Tends to occur in higher socioeconomic classes. @akheriaty @joerogan @delbigtree

Our information streams can be compared to sugar addictions. Within a mass formation group, information is shared like sweets. The more sinister side of this is these same people typically hate those of us who do not accept the sweets, who advocate for a better diet. If you live in an area with many obese people addicted to sugary diets, this metaphor may speak to you and suggest some ways of talking with the addicts. It’s a slow process, but some of them do listen and will change. ABN

The Generational Divide in Eastern Europe — the Bariga Generation

We left off talking about the Soviet Generation last time. By the by, some commenters over on Unz got mad and accused me of promoting pro-Western talking points and being anti-Russian for being a bit harsh, admittedly, about the old-timers. Well, putting aside that some people seem incapable of seeing the world with any nuance and fall back on good vs. evil, black and white narratives, its also an amusing reaction when you consider that the Soviet Generation doesn’t really even see itself as Russian or Ukrainian or Belorussian for that matter. They see themselves as Soviets first and foremost and their allegiance and true love is for a dead political ideology and project, not for the country that they ended up in when the whole thing collapsed. There is even an entire movement of pro-Soviets that refuses to acknowledge that they are Russian and wave their Soviet passports around, saying that the USSR was never formally dissolved, therefore, they remain Soviets and not Russians. And just because these people are anti-Western because the West is supposedly an imperialist, capitalist, bourgeois project, doesn’t mean that they are Russian patriots. But whatever. Consider me what you will if you must, but I think my positions and worldview will become clearer as the blogging continues.

SCOOP: Last year, the School District of Philadelphia encouraged teachers to attend a transgender conference on “kink,” “BDSM,” “trans sex,” “bigger dick energy,” and “banging beyond binaries”

SCOOP: Last year, the School District of Philadelphia encouraged teachers to attend a transgender conference on “kink,” “BDSM,” “trans sex,” “bigger dick energy,” and “banging beyond binaries.”

I've obtained exclusive videos from the conference that will shock you. 🧵

Trans activist Chase Ross hosted a series of sessions on “packers,” “masturbation sleeves,” and “prosthetics for sex,” demonstrating a variety of dildos. “It’s a big boy. This is, like, gigantic,” he said during one demo. “Give me two hours alone and I’ll get this in my butt.”

Unscientific vaccine and mask mandates, banning early treatments, mandating harmful hospital treatments, and so on are good examples of the kinds of attachment or clinging that the Buddha warned against. Delusion is the result of clinging, followed by a cascade of bad karma and compounding delusion. This large societal example can be applied even to very small details of a single individual’s personal psychology or belief, and even to just an instant of that. ABN

These videos may contain valuable instruction or confirmation for some Buddhists and FIML practitioners

There are other articles with similar videos in today’s Daily Mail. I watched three of the vids at the link and found they confirm the First Noble Truth in ways we can relate to today. They also show the value of having a stable ethical practice like the Noble Eightfold Path.

FIML practice can be described as a modern pair-work take on Buddhist mindfulness and concentration. FIML provides an objective way to clearly see yourself in real life while also helping your partner to do the same.

This world is rife with delusion. Many people lose their lives to it. Others crack up very badly. I make no judgement of anyone. Contemplating our own mistakes and excesses as well as those of others can be a sort of Buddhist Contemplation of the First Noble Truth, the truth of suffering. ABN
