The U.S. State Department has cleared a $330 million Foreign Military Sales package of non-standard spare parts and support services for the Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF), specifically for its F-16C/D, C-130 and Indigenous Defence Fighter fleets.
The order should help the Air Force with “maintaining the operational readiness of the… fleet of F-16, C-130” and other planes, the U.S. Department of War announced.
The RoCAF has operated F-16A/B fighters since the late 1990s, when an order for 140 of the aircraft was placed alongside a similar number of indigenous F-CK fighters, and 60 French Mirage 2000 fighters.
The service is set to become the largest foreign operator of the F-16, as both Israel and Turkey retire the aircraft, while 66 modernized F-16C/D Block 70 aircraft are brought into service from the late 2020s.
The Russian Navy has test fired a Zircon hypersonic cruise missile against a target in Ukraine’s Sumy region, according to Ukrainain sources.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the missile was launched from the area of Cape Chauda on the Crimean Peninsula “to strike critical infrastructure facilities,” indicating that this may have been the first known test from a ground-based launcher rather than a warship.

The first combat test of the Zircon missile was announced in February 2024, with Russian President Vladimir Putin observing at the time: “The Zircon sea-launched hypersonic strike system has already been used in combat. While the Air Force has procured F-22 and F-35 fifth generation fighters in significant numbers, and is committed to procuring at least 100 B-21 next generation bombers, the Navy by contrast is heavily reliant on F-18E/F fourth generation fighters and has ordered only a small number of F-35s.

Reports over the past 48 hours claim that the pipe bomber was a Capitol policewoman by the name of Shauni Rae Kerkhoff. This comes after more than four years of not knowing who the pipe bomber was.
It appears that the FBI and Capitol Police were not interested in identifying the person who planted pipe bombs on the evening of January 5th near the RNC and DNC buildings in DC. The Russian Severodvinsk Shipyard has launched the first Khabarovsk class 10,000 ton nuclear powered submarine, which represents an entirely new type of strategic warship designed specifically to deploy 2M39 Poseidon nuclear-armed underwater drones.

Stephen Miller and Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently joined a growing list of Trump Cabinet secretaries and advisers who’ve chosen to live in reserved military housing, with Rubio moving onto “Generals Row” in Fort McNair and Miller also living in the area after abandoning his digs in Arlington, The Atlantic reported.
They join Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who moved into military housing earlier this year, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is alone among his compatriots in finding some precedent for his decision to move onto Generals Row alongside Rubio.
White House and administration officials gave security concerns as the reasons for the arrangements; one other senior White House official, whose identity was not named by The Atlantic, is also in a similar arrangement due to “security concerns related to a specific foreign threat,” said officials.
This could presage strong military moves against domestic ‘terrorists’ and/or concerns secret military cells which entered USA under Biden are expected to launch domestic attacks.
