Activist at slavery reparations meeting in California blasts the proposed $223,000 payments – yelling almost a quarter of a million dollars for each black resident is ‘NOT ENOUGH’

• Activist says $223,000 in reparations for black Californians is ‘not enough’ 
• The comment came during a Friday meeting of the reparation task force
• Rev. Tony Pierce who made the statement also voiced issues with proposed stipulations to receive the nearly quarter-million dollar payment
• The total impact for California would be around $569billion 
• Nearly 6.5% of California residents – 2.5M – identify as Black or African American 

Who is going to pay back the descendants of serfs, indentured servants, slaves from other parts of the world, impoverished sharecroppers, child laborers, coal miners, factory workers, sailors, impressed soldiers, etc? I honestly do not believe Black American experience is all that different from most of us. Legacies of the past and cruelties of the present affect almost everyone. The people who will be footing the bill for reparations will, as ever when equity or diversity is enforced, largely be descendants of the list of unfortunates above. It is never the elite who pays.
