…For all its flaws, Gab’s saving grace is that it actually does what it claims: It says it is a free speech platform, and it is a free speech platform. Looking at these new “Right-wing Twitter alternatives,” none of them appear to have any intention of actually standing by free speech in any meaningful way.

You can forget about a new free speech platform coming from Donald Trump. Torba has recounted how Trump’s people reached out to him and said that Torba would have to change Gab’s terms of service to ban anti-Semitism if he wanted Trump to make Gab his new home base. Torba declined. It is also known that alt tech site Rumble changed its terms of service to ban anti-Semitism mere days before Trump’s endorsement of the site.

Trump has announced his own social media site, Truth Social, which is supposed to be launching in February, but given recent history, I think we all know what we can expect it to be like, and it is nothing to get one’s hopes up for.

I have high hopes for Trump’s Truth Social but fear it will censor too much. One way around that is to provide several levels of filters individual users can choose for themselves. A major part of being a word-using human is using words to describe and understand other humans. In our private lives this process should not be interfered with in any way among consenting adults. But today’s world includes many anonymous adults who may want to join discussions like that. It’s no good when some discussions are stopped and others are not as happens on all Big Tech platforms today, with the exception of Gab. The site the above article comes from, Unz.com, censors almost not at all and is refreshing for that reason. I would rather hear what people think than not. The more you see of disturbing intellectual content, the less disturbing it becomes because you also see the arguments against it. If something is true, no matter how disturbing, it should not be censored. At some point we have to grow out of the legacy media cage and the sense that alternative platforms are too far out. ABN

Nasty little shits; notice that Steve Kirsch frequently offers to debate these types and has even offered them $2 million to debate him, but these nasty little bitches all run and hide, block his account, scurry back into the shadows from whence they came. These are the parasitic soldiers of KOBK warfare. They are “gammas” in the worst sense. They have been groomed and promoted by a generation of gamma parasites that came before them. In turn, they will groom and promote the next generation of parasites coming up behind them. Each generation of parasites in this descent into parasitic hell is worse than the one before—weaker, nastier, pettier—because each mentoring generation always brings in toadies even weaker and nastier than themselves; their shriveled egos cannot bear anyone stronger. This process describes the decline and fall of the West, particularly USA, very well and must be considered in all histories of our rapid downfall. To fully understand this process, think of it as an evolving culture of parasitism, a culture that has to be nasty and shitty to justify its parasitism on others. China's digital manhunt goes global: The final piece in our series on China's outbound propaganda and censorship shows how police use ever more sophisticated tech to find and silence those overseas. They target Chinese students and Chinese Americans alike.

For a sense of what that looks like, here's a video of Chinese police harassing a Chinese student living in Australia. They summoned her father in China to the station, called her on his phone, and demanded she delete a Twitter account that mocked Xi Jinping.

One contractor who unmasks critics in the US for security authorities uses open-source investigation tools, databases leaked on the dark web, and other records, like voting and license registries. He has been assigned journalists and Chinese-American policy analysts.

The goal is to find China connections and leverage them to enforce self censorship. His reports label speech on a numerical system 1: criticizing leaders/planning political action 2: broader criticisms that harm China's image and ethnic separatism 3: libel, gambling etc.

Open letter from The BMJ to Mark Zuckerberg

In September, a former employee of Ventavia, a contract research company helping carry out the main Pfizer covid-19 vaccine trial, began providing The BMJ with dozens of internal company documents, photos, audio recordings, and emails. These materials revealed a host of poor clinical trial research practices occurring at Ventavia that could impact data integrity and patient safety. We also discovered that, despite receiving a direct complaint about these problems over a year ago, the FDA did not inspect Ventavia’s trial sites.

The BMJ commissioned an investigative reporter to write up the story for our journal. The article was published on 2 November, following legal review, external peer review and subject to The BMJ’s usual high level editorial oversight and review.[1]

But from November 10, readers began reporting a variety of problems when trying to share our article. Some reported being unable to share it. Many others reported having their posts flagged with a warning about “Missing context … Independent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people.” Those trying to post the article were informed by Facebook that people who repeatedly share “false information” might have their posts moved lower in Facebook’s News Feed. Group administrators where the article was shared received messages from Facebook informing them that such posts were “partly false.”
