North Korea has pledged to send military personnel to Ukraine within a month to support Putin‘s war-weary forces as both sides struggle to make a decisive breakthrough.
Pyongyang will take an unprecedented step in sending construction and engineering forces to occupied territories of Ukraine as early as July to assist in rebuilding work, South Korea‘s TV Chosun reported earlier, citing a government official.
The rare vow of foreign support follows president Vladimir Putin’s official state visit to North Korea earlier this month – the first in almost a quarter of a century – which culminated in the signing of a so-called defence pact on June 19.
The treaty binds its signatories to providing ‘military and other assistance with all means in its possession without delay’ should either find itself ‘put in a state of war by an armed invasion’.
North Korea is believed to have already supplied Russia with about 1.6mn artillery shells between August and January as Moscow continues to hammer populated areas of Ukraine and tries to make decisive gains in the north.
As polarisation hardens, Pyongyang officials criticised the United States on Monday for its expanding military assistance to Ukraine and dispatch of an aircraft carrier to South Korea, warning it could provoke a ‘new world war’, according to state media.
WASHINGTON — Gen. Eric Smith, commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, told Nikkei on Friday that a new unit established in November on the Japanese island of Okinawa is designed to “counter PRC [the People’s Republic of China] aggression” in order to protect Japan and others in geopolitically sensitive areas.
The U.S. military has reorganized its forces stationed in Japan, creating a new unit called the Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR), which is meant to come to the defense of remote islands quickly in the event of an attack.
“It’s designed to provide long-range sensing and long-range fire, using mobile missile batteries that are capable of striking adversaries’ ships in the strategic sea lines of communication,” Smith said in an interview in Washington, adding the unit’s purpose is “to protect the Japanese home islands, in order to protect the Philippines, in order to protect [South] Korea.”
The world is on the brink of a catastrophe, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said on Friday, pointing to the risks of a potential devastating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
The head of the Shia militia, Hassan Nasrallah, warned on Wednesday that Hezbollah is prepared for a full-scale conflict with Israel and could invade the Jewish state’s northern territories in case of further escalation.
The statement came after one of the group’s senior commanders, Hajj Sami Taleb Abdullah, was killed in an Israeli strike on southern Lebanon last week.
“One rash move – one miscalculation – could trigger a catastrophe that goes far beyond the border, and frankly, beyond imagination,” the UN secretary general told reporters at a press conference, adding that “the world cannot afford Lebanon to become another Gaza.” He called on both sides to “urgently recommit” to peace.
In the first few minutes they both admit they have been late to wake up and also take responsibility for that. UPDATE: At approximately 1:40, Oliver wonders if the people in control of the West have the ‘backbone to do the wet-work’. In his carefully calibrated speech to diplomats and the leadership of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putin delineated an incredibly restrained and strategic approach to solve the Ukraine problem. In the context of the Hegemon’s escalatory green light – actually in practice for several months now – for Kiev to attack deeper into the Russian Federation, Putin’s offer was extremely generous.
That is a direct offer to the Hegemon and the collective West – as the sweaty T-shirt actor in Kiev, apart from illegitimate, is beyond irrelevant.
Predictably, NATO – via that epileptic slab of Norwegian wood – already proclaimed its refusal to negotiate, even as some relatively awake members of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) started discussing the offer, according to Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
Moscow sees the Verkhovna Rada as the only legitimate entity in Ukraine – and the only one with which would be possible to reach an agreement.
Russian UN representative Vasily Nebenzya cut to the chase – diplomatically: if the generous proposal is refused, next time conditions for starting negotiations will be “different”. And “far more unfavorable”, according to Duma Defense Committee head Andrei Kartapolov.
As Nebenzya stressed that in case of a refusal the collective West will bear full responsibility for further bloodshed, Kartapolov elaborated on the Big Picture: Russia’s real target is to create a whole new security system for the Eurasian space.
And that, of course, is anathema to the Hegemon’s elites.

Recently a promising young reporter called Dood (or maybe Doodj), spoke to a leader of the Russian pro-Western opposition, the runaway ex-oligarch Michael Chodorkovsky [Mikhail Khodorkovsky]. Mr Ch has been relegated to the shadows and margins of history, though once upon a time he was the richest tycoon in Russia, and one of the wealthiest men in the world. Now he is worth just below one billion dollars, peanuts as oligarchs count.
He was one of the Dirty Seven [semiboyarshina] oligarchs who seized control of Russia during Yeltsin’s feeble rule. They all were more or less Jewish, and their solidarity and destructiveness could only compete with their ruthlessness and greed. Many of my friends consider Zionists to be apex predators, while Jews are cute and furry prey. They are mistaken – these seven Russian oligarchs were not Zionists, they were just Jews out to destroy everything in their way. These seven men practically destroyed millennium-old Russia. They pauperised its people, reduced its industry to ashes, they sold the factories for scrap; they stole all private bank holdings. They even ruined Russian democracy when they shelled Parliament in 1993 using Yeltsin’s tanks, and then, with the assistance of American advisors, by faking the re-election of President Yeltsin in 1996.
Like locusts attacking a tree, each Jewish oligarch took over a different branch: Mr Berezovsky went after the auto industry, and Russia stopped producing cars; Mr Gusinsky seized television, and turned it into offensive propaganda; Mr Chubais managed the world’s largest transfer of wealth since 1917. Mr Chodorkovsky took over all of Russia’s oil and gas. Everywhere they stole all they could steal, built yachts and palaces, mocking ordinary Russians by their conspicuous consumption. Their official rule ended sometime after 2005 when Mr Berezovsky convinced Yeltsin to pass his reign over to young Mr Putin, and then Mr Putin told the oligarchs to stay away from the state or else. Mr Ch laughed and said he will get rid of Putin. Putin put him into jail and nationalised the oligarch’s mammoth Lukoil oil company. Ten years later, Mr Ch was allowed to leave and so he did. Russian oil is still in the hands of the Russian state, and it still remains the basis of Russian prosperity.
Now, in a recent interview, Mr Ch revealed to a young reporter that the real owner of Lukoil was the late Lord Rothschild, who just (Feb 24) passed away at the ripe old age of 89. It was quite a surprise, to find out that the old Jew was still quick enough to pocket all of Russia’s oil as he was kicking out the godless communists. We Russians actually did hear such a rumour as it was happening, but we did not take it seriously at the time. Blaming “Rothschild” is like blaming “Lizard People”; an antisemitic trope. There is no such person in real life, I thought. But after the publication of Doodj’s video, I looked back in the Times archives and found that it was not a fiction:
So it was known even then, but I (and others) could not believe it at the time. Even now, we tend to discount antisemitic facts along with the antisemitic tropes that flood the Internet.

Strong words from Macgregor. His analysis is reasonable but it’s based on the ‘incompetence’ of the Western elite, the same elite who managed to seize control of the entire West. In a fascinating report, Max Seddon and Chris Cook of the Financial Times reveal how Russia might use nuclear weapons to roll back Chinese aggression. Their story, built off of leaked secret documents, confirms Russia’s deep and longstanding concern that a revitalized China might try to annex Russia’s eastern territories.
Given that China and Russia declared a friendship “without limits,” a few years ago, the prospect of a nuclear exchange between the two neighbors may seem unlikely to a casual Western observer. But Russia is acutely aware that border friendships can change quickly. The last time China and the Soviet Union signed a friendship treaty, the two countries were, within twenty years, embroiled in a nasty border conflict.
China’s actions across Asia has shown the country has a long memory for past slights and long-standing territorial losses. Expansion-minded Chinese nationalists, coupled with China’s increasing contempt for Russian military weakness, are quite capable of harnessing China’s resentments over past defeats to turn on their diminished client state to the north.
Moscow knows this, and it is taking great pains to deter Chinese adventurism. Even with Russia’s Army overextending itself in Ukraine, Russia exercised nuclear-capable Iskander missiles twice last year in “regions bordering China.”
Yesterday at the official SPIEF (St. Petersburg International Economic Forum) Putin gave an extremely revealing 3-hour long open round table with foreign journalists. I will do a break down of some of the most interesting clips and soundbites, though you can see the entire important meeting here.
But first let’s cover the most interesting of the revelations:
The Russian MOD stopped listing official losses sometime around May of 2022, likely after it became obvious that the conflict would drag on and the losses would grow to an unsuitably painful degree.
Now at the SPIEF, Putin gave the first indication since that time of Russian losses when he stated that Russia loses 1 soldier for every 5 Ukrainian ones, as well as giving an exact figure for POWs, which he states as follows:

There is a lot to digest and unpack here, so let’s do it one thing at a time.
Let’s first spell out exactly what he says:
Ukraine loses 50,000 men per month, bothirrecoverable and sanitary losses, i.e. total casualties included wounded, KIA, etc.
The ratio of their wounded to irrecoverable/KIA is 50/50, which means out of 50k, 25k of them are actually irrecoverable losses. (note: this is a high proportion to wounded because of Ukraine’s comparative lack of battlefield medicine which causes far more wounded to die, not to mention Russia’s usage of powerful airstrikes/bombs which proportionally simply kills far more soldiers outright)
Ukraine mobilizes 30,000 new men per month from the street.
The ratio between Russian and Ukrainian losses is 1:5 in favor of Russia.
The ratio of POWs is 1,348 to 6,465 in favor of Russia.
NATO is drawing up plans to send American troops to the frontlines of Europe in the event of an all-out conflict with Russia, it has been revealed.
New ‘land corridors’ are being carved out to quickly funnel soldiers through central Europe without local bureaucratic impediments, allowing NATO forces to pounce in an instant should Putin‘s devastating war in Ukraine move further west.
The plans are said to include contingencies in case of Russian bombardment, letting troops sweep into the Balkans via corridors in Italy, Greece and Turkey, or towards Russia’s northern border via Scandinavia, officials told The Telegraph.
Tensions have ratcheted up in recent weeks, with Russian President Vladimir Putin openly acknowledging the ‘possibility’ of ‘a full-scale Third World War’ as he threatens ‘fatal consequences‘ for western allies allowing Ukraine use of their weapons on Russian soil.
The Lebanese Al Akhbar newspaper, which is affiliated with the Hezbollah terror group, on Tuesday morning reported that in recent days, a number of diplomatic messages have arrived in Beirut, containing warnings regarding an impending war with Israel.
Hezbollah has been launching both missiles and UAVs at northern Israel since October 7, 2023, and Israel has responded by retaliated in a precise and controlled fashion, targeting Hezbollah military infrastructure and senior terrorists.
Sources told Al Akhbar that most representatives of international delegations have expressed concern at the severity of the Israeli threat, but the most significant messages come from the British, who estimate that Israel will attack mid-June. The British also advised preparing for a war of unknown scope or length.
Former Lebanese minister Walid Jumblatt said that during his most recent visit to Qatar he heard concerns regarding Israel’s intentions in Lebanon. Qatari officials expressed worry that Israel is not interested in a ceasefire in Gaza, despite the US efforts to achieve one.
Ukraine’s high causality rates combined with its struggle to conscript its own population means the EU will increasingly move to conscript European youth, mostly in the geographical proximity of Ukraine, to fight against Russia, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó following a meeting with EU foreign ministers.
“Ukrainian casualties are becoming more and more unbearable, Ukrainian men are not being allowed out of Ukraine, and now they want to conscript European youth into the war. And obviously, as the escalation hits this neighborhood first, one can almost clearly hear the argument that the soldiers should be sent from the geographical proximity first. All this means that they want to send Central European youth, including Hungarian youth, to the war with mandatory European conscription,” said Szijjártó during an interview with Hungarian media.
Szijjártó did not disclose which foreign ministers or member states are exploring the possibility of a European conscription effort, but recently, several countries have said they would consider sending their own troops to Ukraine if Russia had a breakthrough on the Ukrainian front, including France and more recently, the Baltic states.
However, a long-term goal of the left-liberal establishment in Brussels is the creation of an EU military force, including removing the decision-making process about defense from member states and centralizing it in Brussels. Under such a proposal, a potential conscription effort could arise that applies to all EU member states.
If this happens, the fate of Europe and probably Russia will follow that of Ukraine (and Gaza). It seems most likely that annihilation of Europe and Russia is the goal and USA possesses a superweapon. ABN
A University of Florida research employee and students have been implicated in an illegal, multi-million dollar scheme that saw samples of dangerous drugs and toxins illicitly shipped to China over a period of seven years.
The scheme, investigated by the Justice Department, saw thousands of biochemical samples bought illegally which were then delivered to a campus laboratory before being shipped overseas, according to federal court records.
Among the students tied to the scheme was the president of UF’s Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Nongnong ‘Leticia’ Zheng.
The materials smuggled to China included what the government described as purified, non-contagious proteins of the cholera toxin and pertussis toxin, which causes whooping cough.
Other materials smuggled to China in the scheme included small amounts of highly purified drugs – known as analytical samples — of fentanyl, morphine, MDMA, cocaine, ketamine, codeine, methamphetamine, amphetamine, acetylmorphine and methadone, court records showed.
Such small samples would generally be used for calibrating scientific or medical devices.
