President Xi’s military purge claims biggest victim as he removes China’s top general and takes total charge of armed forces

President Xi has achieved total control of China’s armed forces after removing a top general over alleged ‘violations of discipline and law’.

Zhang Youxia is the latest high-ranking figure subjected to Xi Jinping‘s long-running purge of military officials.

Experts say the removal of Gen Zhang is likely to delay any attempt to seize Taiwan by force.

The general was thought of as central to modernisation efforts in the Chinese armed forces given his role as senior vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC).

Lyle Morris, a senior fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute, a Washington-based think tank, likened President Xi’s actions to a ‘complete cleaning of the house… the biggest purge in Chinese history since 1949’.

Mr Morris added the removal could leave the PLA in ‘disarray’.

He told The Telegraph: ‘We can all sleep soundly for years.

‘There is no way they could pull off the Taiwan contingency with no senior leaders in charge.’

Christopher K Johnson, a former CIA analyst who follows elite Chinese politics, said Beijing is capable of pumping out impressive, hi-tech weaponary.

However, he said the country’s weakness is its lack of ‘software’ able to conduct large-scale military manoeuvres.

But Mr Morris added the removals in fact suggested President Xi has a ‘lot of support in the party and is fully in charge’.

US to officially exit World Health Organization today

LONDON, Jan 22 (Reuters) – The U.S. is due to officially exit the World Health Organization on Thursday, in the face of warnings it will hit both U.S. health and global health and also in violation of a U.S. law that requires Washington to pay the U.N. health agency $260 million in fees that it owes.

President Donald Trump gave notice that the U.S. would quit the organization on the first day of his presidency in 2025, via an executive order. Under U.S. law, it has to give one-year notice and pay all outstanding fees before departure.

On Thursday, a U.S. State Department spokesperson said the WHO’s failure to contain, manage and share information had cost the U.S. trillions of dollars and the president had exercised his authority to pause the future transfer of any U.S. government funds, support, or resources to the WHO.

“The American people have paid more than enough to this organization and this economic hit is beyond a down payment on any financial obligations to the organization,” the spokesperson said by email.

Trump halts tariffs after dramatic breakthrough with NATO boss on Greenland deal

President Donald Trump announced a dramatic breakthrough in his bid to acquire Greenland after striking a deal with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. 

Trump said he will scrap tariffs scheduled for February 1st following what he described as ‘very productive’ talks on a framework agreement covering the entire Arctic region.

The president said ‘additional discussions’ are ongoing regarding Greenland and that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff are ‘responsible for the negotiations.’ 

Trump told reporters in Davos on Wednesday that the deal will be ‘put out pretty soon.’ 

‘It gets us everything we needed to get,’ he insisted, adding: ‘It’s a deal that everybody’s very happy with.’

This has been one of my greatest geopolitical hopes — that Trump is ‘by deception doing war’ with Israeli Jewish Supremacy.

Gonna hang with this interpretation as long as I can because it feels so right, makes sense and is one of several such signals.

If Ritter is right, this is an example of real-world realism and why we don’t abandon Trump because he did not ban the covid vax, expose the Epstein blackmail op, or pay enough attention to Kirk’s assassination.

Trump condemns Starmer’s ‘great stupidity’ for giving away Chagos Islands in ‘act of total weakness’

Donald Trump today accused Sir Keir Starmer of ‘giving away’ Diego Garcia to Mauritius ‘for no reason whatsoever’ in an ‘act of great stupidity’ that he believes justifies his demand to seize Greenland.

The US president said that ‘there is no doubt that China and Russia have noticed this act of total weakness’ by Britain in the Chagos Islands.

He used his anger over Diego Garcia to justify yet again why the United States should be handed Greenland, urging Denmark and his European allies to ‘do the right thing‘. 

But the UK Government has hit back and insisted that the Chagos deal was backed by their closest allies including the US. 

Mr Trump said in a Truth Social post today: ‘Shockingly, our “brilliant” NATO Ally, the United Kingdom, is currently planning to give away the Island of Diego Garcia, the site of a vital U.S. Military Base, to Mauritius, and to do so FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER.

Trump Wants Gaza Board Constitution and Remittance Agreement Signed in Davos – EU/Macron Flips Out, ‘No Way’

In a stunning and rapid strategy to keep the globalists from realizing what he is assembling, it is being reported that President Trump wants the Gaza Board of Peace constitution and remittance agreement signed in Davos.  However, as the United Nations, European leaders and traditional globalists who comprise the WEF assembly begin to realize what Trump is putting together, they are getting triggered.

“Hey boss, they’re catching on. Better hurry up”

In essence, as people of self-appointed political importance are starting to realize, President Trump is assembling an entirely new structure for global partnerships that will likely end up with the functional obsolesce of the United Nations.  Trump is selecting world leaders through the invite to a global board of peace; Gaza merely represents the initial venue.

One of the key aspects is the new global assembly will each pay their own way. No free riders this time. You want to sit at the big table; join the big club of sovereignty; assemble with a mutually respectful team of action; then pay the entrance fee to attend.

Who/Where/What is the first voice to rise against this global alliance for peace?

Wait, so Israel is not happy…. Not just about Gaza; but about, well, everything this new structure could possibly mean.

Meanwhile, “Argentina’s Javier Milei confirmed he’ll become a founding member and Italy’s Giorgia Meloni has pitched herself as a mediator who is “ready to do our part.””

Trump imposes shock tariff on EIGHT European countries to force them into Greenland deal: Levy to increase until agreement reached

Donald Trump has announced that he will impose increasing tariffs on eight European countries unless they agree to let the US take over Greenland. 

Britain, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands will be hit by a 10 percent levy on ‘any and all goods’ entering the US from February 1, the president announced on Truth Social on Saturday. 

Trump said that if no deal was reached by June 1, the tariff will increase to 25 percent.  

The president, who referred to himself as ‘the tariff king,’ called on Denmark to relinquish the mineral-rich territory by claiming world peace is at stake. 

‘Only the United States of America, under PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP, can play in this game, and very successfully, at that!’ Trump wrote.

‘Nobody will touch this sacred piece of Land, especially since the National Security of the United States, and the World at large, is at stake.’

Trump said that the eight countries had been targeted in direct response to them sending troops to Greenland in the last few days. 

The president added that ‘on top of everything else’ the eight countries ‘have journeyed to Greenland, for purposes unknown.’ 

‘This is a very dangerous situation for the Safety, Security, and Survival of our Planet. These Countries, who are playing this very dangerous game, have put a level of risk in play that is not tenable or sustainable,’ Trump wrote.

‘Therefore, it is imperative that, in order to protect Global Peace and Security, strong measures be taken so that this potentially perilous situation end quickly, and without question.’

German Chancellor Merz Admits Shutting Down Nuclear Energy Production Was a ‘Severe Strategic Mistake’

Germany has a severe electricity shortage and cost problem, and it’s getting worse.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz recently made the admission that shutting down the German nuclear power reactors was a “severe strategic mistake.”

“To have acceptable market prices for energy production again, we would have to permanently subsidize energy prices from the federal budget,” Merz said, adding: “We can’t do this in the long run.”

“So, we are now undertaking the most expensive energy transition in the entire world,” Merz said with pronounced frustration. “I know of no other country that makes things so expensive and difficult as Germany.”

Keep in mind, Germany represents the largest contributing economy in the European Union.  The German industrial sector is the backbone of the European economic model.

All of these realities paint a very tenuous picture for the economic future in Europe, when combined with a new trade relationship with the USA, increasingly cheap goods dumped into the EU by China and the EU promising to continue spending on the war effort in Ukraine against Russia.

Steve Bannon reveals why Canada is the ‘next Ukraine’ as he details Trump’s real motivations behind taking Greenland and his ‘Donroe Doctrine’

President Donald Trump is preparing to counter Chinese influence in Canada as his ‘Donroe Doctrine’ for the Western Hemisphere expands beyond Latin America,  his former campaign architect Steve Bannon has told the Daily Mail.

‘The next big thing is going to be Canada. Canada is the next Ukraine because they can’t defend their northern arctic border and China is going to come take a bite,’ former White House chief strategist Bannon said. ‘They can’t defend it and Trump is going to come in hard on Canada.’

During his first term, Trump formed an Arctic working group that deepened his understanding of Greenland’s geo-strategic importance—and highlighted concerns about Canada’s Arctic vulnerabilities.

The president has long been concerned about China’s actions in the Arctic after they described themselves as a ‘near-arctic state’ in 2018, former White House officials told the Daily Mail.

Canada is also forging closer ties with China, which threatens to upset the existing relationship with the United States.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney sparked concern from Americans as he visited China for the first time in nearly a decade and described Chinese president Xi Jinping and China as ‘strategic partners.’

Trump forms ‘Board of Peace’ as Gaza ceasefire moves to next phase

President Donald Trump has announced that he has formed a ‘Board of Peace’ to govern the Gaza Strip as the US moves into the second phase of its peace deal between Israel and Hamas.

Under the 20-point peace plan, Trump proposed a new international transitional body to oversee the redevelopment of Gaza.

Trump will head and chair the board alongside other world leaders, including Nickolay Mladenov, the former UN Middle East envoy, who is expected to serve as liaison between the board and new Palestinian-run National Committee for Administration of Gaza (NCAG).

It remains unclear who else may sit on the board, but the Times of Israel reported last month that the US has claimed it secured commitments from Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany to have their leaders join the board.

Trump was personally involved in selecting who would receive an invitation to join the panel, a US official said, adding that invitations were sent out on Wednesday to ‘a lot of countries’ and that ‘there has been a very overwhelming response.’

The other members of the board ‘will be announced shortly,’ Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform Thursday.

The Trump administration is now reportedly planning to hold the first meeting of the Board of Peace on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos this week.
