The delta variant of the coronavirus appears to cause more severe illness than earlier variants and spreads as easily as chickenpox, according to an internal federal health document that argues officials must “acknowledge the war has changed.”

Their data is from July 4 in Massachusetts. Since then we have seen covid data from Iceland, Singapore, UK, and Israel showing little or no difference between vaccinated and nonvaccinated in infection rates, severity, and death. Yet CDC appears to still be scrambling to convince the public that vaccines work and are the only solution to the pandemic. Most glaring is there is no discussion about well-established effective treatments for covid.

What’s even worse is vaccinating during a pandemic has been known for many decades to be very risky as doing so is likely to select for variants that can evade the vaccines. In other words, vaccinating during a hot pandemic can actually select for more contagious and more lethal variants, just as we seem to be seeing right now with the Delta variant. ABN
