UC Berkeley is targeting religious and conservative students over vaccine compliance

I was trying to avoid writing more stuff on masks, but this is unbelievable. UC Berkeley, that bastion of California higher education, is now requiring masks -both indoors and outdoors, if one is not vaccinated against… influenza! And, as a virologist and vaccinologist, the use of the slang “flu” makes me cringe. There are no “flu” vaccines. There are a variety of vaccines for reducing Influenza A and Influenza B virus infection and disease. None of them work particularly well. And just as with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the vast majority of deaths from Influenza A and B occur in the elderly or otherwise infirm. Not in college age young adults. In most countries, influenza vaccination is neither routine nor required. One of the main reasons why influenza vaccines are pushed in the USA is to maintain “warm base manufacturing capacity” in case we have a really deadly influenza virus arise.

The Last Tsar: How Russia Commemorates the Brutal Communist Murder of Emperor Nikolai II’s Family

On the night of July 16-17, 1918, the Bolsheviks shot the family of the last Russian tsar, Nikolai II. Eleven people were killed in total: The emperor, the empress, five of their children, and four royal servants. The remains were secretly buried in an abandoned mine, the location of which was hidden until the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The family of Nikolai II was subsequently canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church, and for the last 30 years, in mid-July, Christians from all over the world participate in a church procession from the murder site in Ekaterinburg to a monastery in Ganina Yama. An RT correspondent learned the story of this extrajudicial massacre and talked to pilgrims about their attitude to the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.

In March of 1917, before the October Revolution, Russia’s provisional government decided to arrest the royal family. At first, the Romanov’s lived at Tsarskoye Selo, but in August, they were forced to go to Tobolsk. In the spring of 1918, the group was moved to Ekaterinburg, where they stayed in the house of an engineer named Nikolay Ipatiev, which had been requisitioned by the Bolsheviks, and sometimes received food from the nuns of the Novo-Tikhvin convent.

A perfect moral, dramatic, pragmatic, linguistic, psychological, spiritual, and emotional act…

…is a proper FIML query.

It is perfect (in no special order) morally because it seeks truth and goodness between two people; dramatically because it uses our innate dramatic instinct to question our own deep sense of live drama in the moment; pragmatically because it is eminently practical; linguistically because it is an extremely good use of language, possibly the best use; psychologically because it benefits both the self and other in profound ways while also revealing deep behavioral patterns painlessly; spiritually because it stimulates the spirit and spiritual metacognition, bringing both partners closer to their ideals; and emotionally because it forestalls false negative and destructive emotional responses, replacing them with joyful understanding. FIML is a pursuit of truth shared by two people. It is a technique, a method, that can be used in any religion, philosophy, world-view, or lifestyle. In the beginning, FIML does not even depend on scrupulous truthfulness because the practice itself will reveal the value of truthfulness, which ultimately will require almost no effort. Truthfulness is an instinct or inkling of deepest consciousness. Once seen, it calls forth itself.

do your best

You have fully experienced seeing through the illusion of self. You made that decision at such a young age it can hardly be considered your decision, but that’s what happened and you are the one who has to live with it now. Having myself experienced a different but extremely serious trauma at almost exactly your age (I was 13), I can fully relate to your sadness. The success that can be derived from experiences like these is the success of seeing beyond the worldly ego. You can’t possibly go back, so accept it. From now on always do your best. Use your deepest mind to understand your conditions as deeply as you can, and then do your best based on that understanding.

If the person who wrote the above sees this, I hope she will understand and feel some comfort even if it seems hard to do. Deep trauma and huge mistakes can and do make us stronger and realer. There is no external consolation prize for trauma and no gain to be had by playing the victim, but there is a profound inner payoff. ABN

War Against Children – documentary with Stew Peters

direct link

Having been a child and young adult casualty of this war myself, I know it happens. Many do not survive, many are maimed, many are repeatedly poisoned, many are driven insane. This war has many reasons for being. One of them is power—getting more power. A major reason for the precipitous decline and rapid takeover of USA and the West is this war on children. And adults, who are similarly killed, maimed, poisoned, and driven insane. These crimes are perpetrated throughout life to: 1) discredit the victims completely and render them helpless; and 2) because wounded victims are worse for their communities than dead ones. Notice what is happening to America—everything is designed to harm and weaken our society. That is one proof everyone can see. I have no connection with anyone in this video, which is highly dramatized. Make of it what you will but be assured this kind of thing happens a lot, enough to destroy our whole society. ABN

Wise compassion

The highest virtue in Buddhism is wisdom, not compassion.

Unwise compassion—that is compassion that brings harm rather than good—is bad.

I think the Pope’s talk as described in the following article is an example of unwise compassion.

Francis reprimands European leaders, forcefully asking continent: ‘What has happened to you?’

The Pope tried to highlight Europe’s “strengths” with his lofty rhetoric, but I think he revealed some of its deepest weaknesses.

Identifying a temptation to “yield to our own selfish interests” by “putting up fences here and there” to stop the flow of migrants into Europe, the pontiff said: “I dream of a Europe where being a migrant is not a crime but a summons to greater commitment on behalf of the dignity of every human being.”

I probably shouldn’t say any of what I have said and what I am going to say next: Each of the major Abrahamic religions suffers from the flaw of holding some word or law or ideal above human wisdom.

Another victory for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Judge rebukes Department of Defense and Marine Corps for refusing to grant religious accommodation requests to service members

(The Center Square) – U.S District Court Judge Steven Merryday issued a blistering rebuke of the Department of Defense and Marine Corps for refusing to grant religious accommodation requests to service members.

Merryday did so when issuing a 48-page ruling Thursday in which he granted class action status for all active and reserve U.S. Marine Corps service men and women in a lawsuit filed against the Secretary of Defense over the department’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

…In his order, Merryday points out that 3,733 Marines had requested religious accommodations and only 11 were granted to those who’d already put in for retirement. He then asked, “Is it more likely than not – in nearly all 3,733 cases – that no reasonable accommodation was available?

Birthplace of St. Peter FOUND: A 1,500-year-old Mosaic found with a prayer to ‘the chief and commander of the heavenly apostles’ suggests a town in northern Israel is the lost biblical city of Bethsaida – which was the disciple’s childhood home

Archeologists excavating the ruins of a 1st-century church in northern Israel uncovered a mosaic with an inscription in ancient Greek

The team translated the text to discover it is a prayer to Peter the Apostles, which suggests the church was built to commemorate his home in what was the city of Bethsaida

The dedication is a prayer for intercession to ‘the chief and commander of the heavenly apostles’

…Steven Notley, an archaeologists with Nyack College in New York, said in a statement: ‘This discovery is our strongest indicator that Peter had a special association with the basilica, and it was likely dedicated to him.

‘Since Byzantine Christian tradition routinely identified Peter’s home in Bethsaida, and not in Capernaum as is often thought today, it seems likely that the basilica commemorates his house.’

The ruins of the church also fit the account of Saint Willibald, a native of England and the Bavarian bishop of Eichstaett, who visited the area around 725 AD during a pilgrimage and said that a church at Bethsaida had been built on the site of Peter and Andrew’s home.

He reported: ‘And thence they went to Bethsaida, the residence of Peter and Andrew, where there is now a church on the site of their house.’

The Politics of Dysgenic Fertility: Edward Dutton’s SPITEFUL MUTANTS

Dr. Edward Dutton’s latest book, Spiteful Mutants: Evolution, Sexuality, Politics and Religion in the 21st Century, is a collection of 10 essays that use evolutionary theory to explain the decline of the West. Less narrowly focused than most of the author’s books (Sent Before Their Time, Making Sense of RaceChurchill’s Headmaster), I warmly recommend it as an introduction to evolutionary thinking about cultural change, and to understand why Leftists promote mass immigration, the Floyd-Hoax-Black-Lives Matter riots, the mad rush to “transgenderism,” and the normalization of pedophilia.

…The personality profile of the new zealots is the opposite of the prosocial personality of the traditionally religious. They are selfish and disagreeable, hypocritical, narcissistic, mentally unstable, and prone to emotional breakdowns when challenged. This, in turn, explains why they are so easily “triggered,” and feel they must “cancel” those who threaten their beliefs or self-image.

“Those of us who stand against this trend,” cautions Dutton, “must be aware that we are not dealing simply with [opposition to] free speech, [but] with a religion, with all the attractions to human psychology inherent in it.”

I personally believe that these “spiteful mutants” are also promoted and directed by an overarching parasitic group that has evolved over many decades by learning how to adapt to and exploit American culture, laws, and institutions for its own gain. Evolutionarily, parasitism can be a very successful strategy. Historically, parasitic human groups have existed in all civilizations, often coming to control them. In America, our dominant parasitic group(s) uses people like “spiteful mutants” to destabilize and reconfigure institutions and social norms in ways that facilitate parasitic exploitation. This is clearly illustrated by the obvious fact which we all can see—that all of our major institutions have been taken over by parasites, including academia, legacy media, most of the federal government, corporations, hospitals, and so on. America has almost reached the stage where we no longer even have a recognizable polity that can speak and vote for its own national interests. ABN

BIG VICTORY for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Illinois health care workers win lawsuit against employer who unlawfully denied RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION from covid vaccine MANDATE

Today, Liberty Counsel settled the nation’s first classwide lawsuit for health care workers over a COVID shot mandate, for more than $10.3 million. The class action settlement against NorthShore University HealthSystem is on behalf of more than 500 current and former health care workers who were unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate. The agreed upon settlement was filed today in the federal Northern District Court of Illinois.

As a result of the settlement, NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate these health care employees who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells.

This is a historic, first-of-its-kind class action settlement against a private employer who unlawfully denied hundreds of religious exemption requests to COVID-19 shots.

…As part of the settlement agreement, NorthShore will also change its unlawful “no religious accommodations” policy to make it consistent with the law, and to provide religious accommodations in every position across its numerous facilities. No position in any NorthShore facility will be considered off limits to unvaccinated employees with approved religious exemptions.

In addition, employees who were terminated because of their religious refusal of the COVID shots will be eligible for rehire if they apply within 90 days of final settlement approval by the court, and they will retain their previous seniority level.

Ultimately, religious freedom means freedom to act on your own conscience. This is not just a freedom for established religions or for people who have a note from their priest. It is an unalienable right of all people and no one shall infringe it. All freedom-loving people should be delighted with this decision. I hope we see many more like it. ABN
