A heavily armed terrorist equipped with a VPAM 6-rated ballistic protection vest opened fire in Kraków’s central square in Poland, leaving five people dead.
A local police officer, armed only with a pistol, confronted the attacker and managed to neutralize the threat after firing several shots at extremely close range. The terrorist’s high level of ballistic protection made intervention difficult.
The officer was wounded during the confrontation but managed to stop the attack from continuing.
