All signs point to NATO is finished. Russian Kinzhal takes out top NATO commanders and Ukrainian top brass

Kinzhal destroys deep bunker near Lviv

The story of this Kinzhal attack dates back to early March. There have been many rumors about this devastating attack, which seems to have actually happened. This video has nothing especially new to offer but it provides a good overview of what is known about the attack and the chilling impression it made on Western powers, who may have lost their appetite for WW3 due to it. Did the Neocons Save the World from the Thucydides Trap? — Ron Unz

Over the last couple of years I’d begun seeing our growing conflict with China described as an inevitable consequence of “the Thucydides trap” but hadn’t been entirely sure of the source of that idea. Decades ago, I’d had a very strong interest in Classical Greek history, so the reference was obvious to me: the bitter rivalry between a dominant Sparta and a rising Athens that had led to the decades long Peloponnesian War that devastated Greece. But only recently did I discover that the term had been popularized in Destined for War, a 2017 national bestseller by Harvard’s Graham Allison, which had followed his earlier 2015 Atlantic article on the same subject.

This is an excellent overview of the geopolitical situation US neocons have created for USA and how bad it is, though maybe some good will come of it because even US neocons may fear full-blown war with China. Good read and best not to skip it even if you already sense the core problem. ABN

Lavrov in Caracas, Brasília talks SWIFT alternative amid sanctions

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on his Latin America tour, urged countries facing similar challenges to “join forces” against  Western sanctions’ “blackmail”, explaining that countries like Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua are also subjected to economic sanctions and embargoes but they continued to “choose their own path.”

While in Caracas, Lavrov reviewed with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, alongside their respective delegations, hundreds of accords that have been inked in the past between the two countries. The agreements covered issues in the financial, energy, agricultural, and other sectors.

Ukraine readies spring offensive expected to be largest mobilization since war with Russia began

Europe’s greatest armed conflict since World War II is poised to see the largest mobilized effort since the war in Ukraine began as Kyiv prepares for an anticipated spring offensive.

Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War believe that based on information released from Russia and Ukraine, previous war movements and historical patterns of ground warfare, Kyiv is readying its troops for another significant offensive push.

“We are now on the eve of a Ukrainian counteroffensive,” George Barros, a Russia analyst and leader of the Geospatial Intelligence Team for the Institute for the Study of War told Fox News Digital.

I hope Poland and the Baltics are smart enough to stay out of this. If they join, the war will engulf Eastern Europe—if not all of Europe. The goal in Ukraine was neocon proxy war against Russia with the aim of also killing as many Ukrainians as possible. If Poland and the Baltics join, this too will be their fate. Judging by what we see and not what people say, the true leaders of this war want to destroy Europe as much as they want to destroy Russia. ABN
