I just spent some time in the hospital and it was good to see and deal with the medical people. All were great, conscientious, downhome, and well-trained. It is also clear the entire hospital operates under a protocol authority, which has also been trained into them. This can be very good—I was asked multiple times which side my hernia was on, the doctor asked me and checked his records and only then initialed the correct side while visually confirming it with me. They did this level of checking at every step. As a FIML practitioner, I loved it because we need much more of that interpersonally. Anyway, people who control the top of hospital protocol—and that means DOD for covid—are the main ones who committed gross moral and professional malfeasance, to put it mildly. As you go down the pyramid, we have to be more and more forgiving. Interpret that how it fits your experience. Mine was excellent. The op went great and I feel wonderful and very grateful to all of those healthcare workers. ABN

Justin Bieber tells why he turned down being a billionaire

…Bieber was a regular at a Bible study class held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills and in July 2017 he shared with the congregation what he described as a “horrific story” and explained why he felt he had to quit his world tour.

Describing a party – attended by the upper echelon of the music business, including executive VPs of development, producers, power agents and international financiers – Bieber said he was encouraged to sexually abuse a young child who had been bought to the party for the sexual gratification of the industry elite.

“I didn’t want to do this. I really didn’t. They said this kid was drugged, it was horrible,” Bieber said, explaining that it was made clear to him that he would gain entry to the “business side of the industry” if he “joined the club” by passing the initiation rites.

“I wouldn’t just be a performer, I’d be a mogul. That path would open up for me, like it did for Jay-Z.”

“It’s the difference between being a millionaire and being a billionaire.”

But Bieber told the congregation that he couldn’t do it.

“To join the club I’d have to do bad things to this poor kid. But then I realized that even that wasn’t enough for them. I’d also have to kill this little child.”

Bieber said he had heard rumors about this type of initiation in the music industry, but he had not been confronted with it before.

“I got told they secretly film these parties. Once they’ve got you on video doing something like that, they own you.”

Bieber said his conscience is clear because he didn’t participate, but the fate of the drugged child is haunting him.

“They said this kid was raped by a few different guys. They said he was bleeding. I got out of there but I heard he died and that haunts me.”

Women swimmers WON’T have to race against trans athletes under new rules from Swim England: Sport’s governing body will bring in separate ‘female’ and ‘open’ categories for competitions from September

Women swimmers will not have to compete against transgender competitors in licensed events under new rules from Swim England.

The sport’s governing body has introduced an ‘open’ category for those born male as well as trans or non-binary competitors, while a ‘female’ category will be restricted to those with a birth sex of female.

The policy comes into effect on September 1 and will apply to competitions under Swim England’s auspices including those organised by member regions and clubs.

Swim England said hormonal therapy reduced performance advantage but was ‘insufficient to negate it completely and trans females therefore likely retain an advantage over their cisgender peers’.

Pausing AI Developments Isn’t Enough. We Need to Shut it All Down — Eliezer Yudkowsky

…To visualize a hostile superhuman AI, don’t imagine a lifeless book-smart thinker dwelling inside the internet and sending ill-intentioned emails. Visualize an entire alien civilization, thinking at millions of times human speeds, initially confined to computers—in a world of creatures that are, from its perspective, very stupid and very slow. A sufficiently intelligent AI won’t stay confined to computers for long. In today’s world you can email DNA strings to laboratories that will produce proteins on demand, allowing an AI initially confined to the internet to build artificial life forms or bootstrap straight to postbiological molecular manufacturing.

If somebody builds a too-powerful AI, under present conditions, I expect that every single member of the human species and all biological life on Earth dies shortly thereafter.

There’s no proposed plan for how we could do any such thing and survive. OpenAI’s openly declared intention is to make some future AI do our AI alignment homework. Just hearing that this is the plan ought to be enough to get any sensible person to panic. The other leading AI lab, DeepMind, has no plan at all.

CDC infuriates reasonable people once again

Despite the global move away from vaccinating young people, the CDC last month officially added Covid shots to the list of routine immunizations for kids and adults.

It put a two or three-dose primary series of the Covid vaccine and a booster for people over the age of 19 on the schedule, and the same for children over six months. 

Officials said the move would ‘normalize’ the vaccine and ‘send a powerful message’ that everyone over six should stay up to date with their Covid vaccines.

The CDC implemented the move after independent vaccine advisors proposed the changes.

It means the shot is in the same category as vaccines for diseases such as polio, measles and hepatitis B.

Elon Musk and 1,000 other technology leaders including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak are calling for a pause on the ‘dangerous race’ to develop AI, which they fear poses a ‘profound risk to society and humanity’ and could have ‘catastrophic’ effects. 

In an open letter on The Future of Life Institute, Musk and the others argued that humankind doesn’t yet know the full scope of the risk involved in advancing the technology. 

They are asking all AI labs to stop developing their products for at least six months while more risk assessment is done. 

If any labs refuse, they want governments to ‘step in’. Musk’s fear is that the technology will become so advanced, that it will no longer require – or listen to – human interference. 

It is a fear that is widely held and even acknowledged by the CEO of AI – the company that created ChatGPT – who said earlier this month that the tech could be developed and harnessed to commit ‘widespread’ cyberattacks.

Travesty of medical science — Dr John Littell decertified by American Board of Family Medicine

The American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) has stripped the certification of Florida Doctor John Littell. Littell, a U.S. Army veteran and Family Physician made headlines for using Ivermectin to treat over 3000 Covid-19 patients.

“I got disciplined for giving Ivermectin which got a young mom out of the hospital in three days when she would have died,” said Dr Littell speaking outside a meeting of the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Board.

Dr. Littell is facing further discipline from the ABFM, of whom Littell has been a certified member since July 13, 1990, according to the letter.

“ABFM has determined that your Public Channels contain false, inaccurate and misleading statements constituting health misinformation and disinformation about COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, and the effort of public health officials to address the COVID-19 pandemic through vaccination and other mitigation measures,” the letter states.

The Silence of the Shams — Pay Attention to The Specific Silence, and What They are Waiting For

It is good that people are starting to realize the deception in the world of politics, specifically republican politics, by watching what is not done, who does not speak and what is not being said in the aftermath of a visible effort to indict President Trump by a politically motivated New York district attorney.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence; however, the silence tells you something very specific when it comes to politics.  The corrupt and manipulative political system is designed to test opinion, that is what most professional politicians do before they take a position.  In essence, the ones who wait are the ones who manipulate.

The politicians who wait to express opinions on substantive issues, are the ones who are comfortable operating in the world where manipulation is the tool, and authenticity is something they do not carry.   In the biggest of big political pictures, this approach is what supports the maintenance of the professional political system.

Without manipulation as the primary agenda of focus, politicians do not need consultants, polling, managers or branding groups.  However, when the creation of an artificial premise, the manipulation itself, is the baseline for the character of the principal, all of these systems are needed.  This video by Vivek Ramaswamy has gained a lot of attention, because at the core of the purpose – he is correct.  WATCH:

However, the issue extends well beyond individual politicians; the issue goes all the way through the political apparatus into the systems and institutions itself.   This is one of the reasons why, when you fine-tune your discernment, you can predict “what systems” are carrying “what motives.”

From a Buddhist POV Levine’s commitment to this is immoral, unethical, and cruel. Framing it as ‘support’ or ‘gender-affirming’ is linguistic butchery. It is anti-science to harm children, who do not have the mental development to make a decision like this. From a Buddhist POV, pretending to medically change children’s sexes confirms in them the delusion that an identity based on external or sensory factors is a very important thing about them, if not the most important. It is not. That a government official is promoting these practices illustrates how facilely the human mind can slide into criminal delusion. It also shows that delusions come from people, our own minds or those of others. There is no way surgically or chemically altering children’s bodies based on the perverse fantasies of adults can possibly be a good thing. Not a chance. ABN
