Satellite Temperature Data Show Almost All Climate Model Forecasts Over the Last 40 Years Were Wrong

A major survey into the accuracy of climate models has found that almost all the past temperature forecasts between 1980-2021 were excessive compared with accurate satellite measurements. The findings were recently published by Professor Nicola Scafetta, a physicist from the University of Naples. He attributes the inaccuracies to a limited understanding of Equilibrium Climate Sensitivity (ECS), the number of degrees centigrade the Earth’s temperature will rise with a doubling of carbon dioxide.

Scientists have spent decades trying to find an accurate ECS number, to no avail. Current estimates range from 0.5°C to around 6-7°C. Without knowing this vital figure, the so-called ‘settled’ science narrative around human-caused climate change remains a largely political invention, not a credible scientific proposition. Professor Scafetta has conducted extensive work into climate models and is a long-time critic of their results and forecasts. In a previous work, he said many of the climate models should be “dismissed and not used by policymakers”. Along with around 250 professors, he is a signatory to the World Climate Declaration which states there is no climate emergency and also notes climate models are “not remotely plausible as global tools”.

Computer modeling is not scientific evidence. We saw the enormous mistakes made in computer modeling of covid and the buildings that collapsed on 9/11. To base global energy policies on computer models that have already been shown to be almost entirely wrong is folly. I have been agnostic on Anthropogenic Global Warming for many years, but after watching covid pseudoscience happen in real-time and also watch it take the lives of millions of people needlessly, I cannot remain neutral any longer. Big Science is run by Big Money and Big Government and is fueled by payola and egomania, and not by selfless quest for the truth. ABN

A quality apology from Cee-Cee following her Halloween mask-wearing in a preschool setting

source

The article does not say how old Cee-Cee is but she is clearly quite young. And yet still she has the moral fiber to provide a well-spoken public apology for her behavior. From a Buddhist point of view, her apology is perfect. She explains what happened and why without making excuses for herself. She takes full responsibility for her own behavior. She apologizes profusely and asks for forgiveness. She vows never to do it again, or words very close to that. I doubt Cee-Cee is even one-third of the age of Fauci but she is morally his elder and superior by a million miles. Same goes for Collins, Birx, and many many more who have not and probably never will offer even a smarmy, low-grade apology for their atrocious behavior. I don’t mean to steal Cee-Cee’s thunder but the contrast is glaring. If only the high-and-mighty in our country had her decency, everything would be better. I hope the good people of Mississippi and USA will accept Cee-Cee’s apology fully and with respect, and allow her to move on with a clear conscience. ABN

UPDATE: I posted the video without noticing The Daily Mail had called Cee-Cee’s apology “groveling.” This, to me, highlights much of what is wrong with USA/West. Her apology is really good. In the many years of running this site, I cannot remember a better one that made mainstream news. When we disparage the person who sincerely apologizes and makes amends for their mistake, we all but force fewer people to apologize. In light of this, Cee-Cee deserves even more praise because our culture does not know how to accept an apology and allow for full expiation. We pay dearly for this fault as our public figures virtually never apologize for their mistakes or misdeeds. At most, some celebrity will go into expensive rehab for two weeks (thus hiding from the public) and blame it all on drugs and alcohol, often implying they are the real victim due to bad parenting or a bad marriage (which may be true, but still the core issue that prompted the whole thing is never addressed clearly or properly apologized for). I guess the the heart of this problem is it is simply difficult to apologize, even for practiced Buddhists. Humans seem to be born with an instinct to deflect blame along with one to cast stones. ABN

We need this spirit to face even worse than vaccines. The Great Reset, The Great Replacement, economic ruin, even World War III are upon us now. The vaccines were a warmup. We must continue to be strong or lose everything. ABN

United Nations, Melissa Fleming: “We partnered with Google… We own The Science”

Virtually all information available is now “curated,” which means censored, culled, propagandized, distorted. We have seen the deadly failures of covid pseudoscience promoted by information “curators.” Fleming describes with evident pleasure just one of the techniques they use to do this with global warming. See my comment on free speech here. And an analysis of Google search here.

Game theory and trust

The game linked below explains some basics of game theory and also some basics of why FIML practice works so well.

The game can be found at this link: The Evolution of Trust.

I highly recommend playing this game. It takes about thirty minutes to finish.

For the first part of it, I was only mildly interested though the game is reasonably engaging.

When it got a point where communication mistakes are factored in, I sat up and took notice.

The game is a very simple computer model of some very simple basic choices human beings make all the time. Without giving away too much, even this simple model shows something I bet most of us can already see.

And that is: zero-sum games do not give rise to trust. Win-win games do.

What was most interesting to me is the game also shows that communication mistakes foster trust if there are not too many of them.

Accepting mistakes in communication requires trust. Mistakes happen. When two people accept that in each other and in themselves, trust grows.

This is a very important point and a foundation of FIML practice.

In fact, I would say that mistakes foster trust even more in FIML than other communication games. This happens because in FIML mistakes are isolated in such a way that they can be fully recognized and understood for what they are.

This provides a method for solving immediate problems while also building a foundation for the inevitable occurrence of future ones. Moreover, the kinds of mistakes people make become less stupid.

In many respects, the game of FIML is largely one of recognizing communication mistakes or potential mistakes as soon as they arise, within seconds of their onset.

By doing that FIML shows us how our deep psychology is actually functioning in real-life. Multiple insights into this aspect of psychology are transformational.

CARLSEN ON THE NIEMANN DRAMA: NOT GOING TO SAY EVERYTHING [translated from Norwegian]

Carlsen led 2.5-0.5 from day one of the final and needed two points ahead of the four-game digital rapid chess final on Sunday. He won the first two games and secured his fourth triumph on the tour so far this year.

After the victory was a fact, the Norwegian was asked about what has sent shock waves through the chess world recently. When asked in TV 2’s chess broadcast whether he thinks it is right that Niemann is allowed to participate in the next tournament on the “tour”, he replied:

– I am not going to change my point of view on whether I want to play against him or not, but I am not the one who invites players to tournaments. Those decisions are made by others.

In the group stage earlier in the week, Carlsen met the American Hans Niemann. There, the Norwegian lost on purpose after two moves.

TV 2’s chess expert Jon Ludvig Hammer expects that Niemann will compete in the next tournament as well, and that Carlsen will withdraw from the meeting with the American again.
